The Japanese edition may have come out in 2003, but the U.S. edition definitely came out in 2004. I picked it up as soon as it came out, and have been playing it obsessively ever since ... maybe somebody can verify the Japanese release date and update the Japanese page? Aselia

Ok, people, the name of the world in Phantasia is not definitively Aselia. It is not fact. The people of that world use a calendar system called Aselia Calendar; it doesn't mean the planet is named Aselia. Before the current Aselia Calendar system, people in the ancient period (Thor, Fenrir, Odin) used the Solar Calendar and they called the planet Earth. Their worldview was basically a reference and parallel to ours. The world in Phantasia afaik was never named; when we need to call it something, we assume it's Aselia because of the calendar. If no one can find proof that the planet is called Aselia besides inspired by the calendar system, please don't use stuff like Aselia universe or call it Aselia out-right. -Gyozilla 3:01, 7 Feb 2008

Missing Plot Information

There was a very well done synopsis of the plot of the first disk done yet it is left incomplete, we still need the rest of the game as the reader of this article will be left hanging. If someone could go finish it with the same quality that was used to make the fisrt synopsis it would be much appreciated. Also, if someone could add spoiler warnings in their adequate places it would be of a help for readers who have not yet played the game.

Note

The following was added on 7-7-2005 by Michael in the "Themes" section: "The analogy of two paralelle worlds originating from one and split asunder by a character from a team of four adventurers might be a reference to the Longest Journey, in which four drakins split a world into two."

Aerith Trivia

I added the "Aerith" trivia. You think it's reasonable enough? -spotco

Good job!

Just wanted to compliment you guys for a great article. I remember coming here when all there was was a little stub. It was a pleasant surprise to arrive here now to find a full article! --pie4all88 01:07, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Anytime. :) --Slowking Man 02:38, Sep 6, 2004 (UTC)
This article actually inspired me to add some pictures to articles on other games that I like. :D --pie4all88 03:10, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Hello, I'm writer of Japanese edition. I can't use English well... maybe my comment looks strange English.

This article delights me. Because I'm crazy about this game. I'm very glad that this game was translated into English.--222.147.187.242 14:44, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Voice actors

I reeeeally like the voice acting in this game, and have a pretty good knowledge about the american VAs for this game. Would it be appropriate to add the english voice actors at the end of the character blurbs? (for example, at the end of the explanation of Kratos Aurion I would add "In the english version of this game Kratos' voice is provided by Cam Clarke.") Morwen 18:17, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Gamecube, not PS2

Why is this article under PS2 games? It belongs under Gamecube games. Will someone please move this? I'm new to Wikipedia and don't know all the nuances of editing yet. :)Afro Squirrel 8:55, 8 June 2005

Actually, this article belongs in both Category:GameCube games and Category:PlayStation 2 games simply because the game was released for the PS2 in Japan. --TheDotGamer Talk 21:09, Jun 8, 2005 (UTC)

With that the case, shouldn't it be under Gamecube only in en.wikipedia and both in the Japanese section? Laleira Granite 8:27, 28 February 2007

As wikipedia documents information worldwide, information regarding the PS2 version only available in Japan would still be relevant to this game. Personajxt 09:04, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

A lot of spoilers

The article is filled with many spoilers, and there is no notice of it. There are even spoilers about character-specific events that can only be obtained by one character each run through the game. I feel there should be at least a notice, and maybe a minimal section of everything, before going into spoilers. I don't think that when someone wants some information on a game to know what it's like (and hence worth to buy) only to be bombarded with spoilers. BenoitRen 20:32, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

In Wikipedia:Spoiler, it says they are no longer necessary as articles are expected to cover content in depth. AngelFire3423 (talk) 15:38, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
If you think the spoilers are a big problem then put them in collapsable text boxes. Pyro Stick (talk) 08:30, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Small error

I noticed the article says "Evidence that Tales of Symphonia is a prequel to Tales of Symphonia includes" - clearly an error but I am unsure which is the incorrect usage. Sheikah 01:55, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Someone had already replaced the second Symphonia with Phantasia, so I just added "the following" between 'includes' and the colon. This makes it grammatically correct and better to read.  :) I also updated the list of titles with some of the ones I've received in the game. On another note: I have a fan-made AMV of Tales of Symphonia, can I link to it in the article here or should I refrain for this? --Undrhil 07:07, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Clean-up required

The clean-up tag has been enforced as this article contains excess information, fan-cruft, no references and citations, and no fair use rationale attached to the images. —Eternal Equinox | talk 15:20, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

I agree, but don't remove images just because they lack fair use rationale. They're likely to get deleted that way. Please consider replacing the cleanup tag with a more specific one. --Pagrashtak 15:41, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
I see no problems with it, except maybe the last comment about Raine. AutomaticMan
Well, the cleanup tag may be a little much in my opinion, but there are parts that could use a little trimming. --Pagrashtak 20:12, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
I have removed the images again because they require fair use rationale. Until it can be provided, the images should not be displayed in the article. We do not want Wikipedia to be sued now. Please see Wikipedia:Images and Wikipedia:Fair use. Thanks! —Eternal Equinox | talk 19:48, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Just as you don't remove sections of text that need cleanup, you shouldn't remove images just because they lack fair use rationale. By removing them from the article you are making them subject to deletion if they are not used in any other article. You are also removing their visibility, greatly reducing the chance that someone will add the rationale. A few sentences on the image page is not going to be the deciding factor in a potential lawsuit, believe me. Please do not remove the images again; if you care this deeply, why not add the rationale yourself? --Pagrashtak 23:56, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
I have allowed five days to pass, and will once again be removing the images. Without copyright rationale, the images should not be displayed on Wikipedia. —Eternal Equinox | talk 14:16, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
A new image has been placed in the article with the appropriate fair use rationale, along with one of the older screenshots. Newer ones will be added with time. —Eternal Equinox | talk 15:37, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

Sales reference

This article currently list http://www.namco.com as a sales figure reference, but I don't see that information on the front page. Could someone point out the info to me or fix the link if it's wrong? Thanks --Pagrashtak 16:18, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

I referenced the original website because a mirror domain forum of Namco included the sales figure. I don't remember what the forum was now that I've cited Namco, but perhaps it is possible to locate them within the actual website itself. I could be wrong, and if they are not found, a different website may have to be sourced, which would be unfortunate. —Eternal Equinox | talk 19:02, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
I did some searching at the MagicBox, a good source for CVG sales figures, and found a more recent sales figure. --Pagrashtak 20:07, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
All right, excellent discovery. —Eternal Equinox | talk 14:13, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Themes

Shouldn't we mention sacrifice in this section? It's a major theme in the game. – Iggy Koopa 03:53, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

Character List

The characters section is lovely, but a great deal of the links were leading nowhere, and the ones that lacked a redirect led to page that only included statistics. That information is for wikibooks. It isn't for an encyclopedia attempting to merely include worthy information and anlysis. I'm also wondering if a seperate article should be constructed, as I did for Seven Samurai 20XX.

This article seems to have a focus point on character development and plot, so making such a article where whe can insert such things for absolute inclusion seems logical. -ZeroTalk 19:54, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Redirect

Llyod Irving and Zelos Wilder shouldn't redirect here-they need their own articles. - Merlin Storm

Since they only appear in one game, there isn't a very compelling argument for giving them dedicated articles. A Characters of Tales of Symphonia article could be split off if the section gets too large, but there's no need for individual character articles here. Pagrashtak 04:33, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
I think both Lloyd and Zelos appear in Tales of the World as well. --Nin 10:12, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Mostly every Tales character appears in the spin off Tales of the World series. A general list of characters is fine. ShiningStorm 22:13, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Choice of the Name, Martel, deliberate?

I've been doing some research on Akkadian (Ancient Babylonian) for a little story I've been writing and came across something I thought interesting. Mart means Daughter in Akkadian. With El meaning God, Martel thus means Daughter of God, just as Babel means Gate of God. Interesting, isn't it? Do you think it could be deliberate? Wolf ODonnell 16:15, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

The Sylvarant and Tethe'alla articles....

Hey, just seen there that someone changed it so that if you go to either Sylvarant or Tethe'alla that it directs you to this article. I think the history in these articles has some use. I do think though that they may not deserve their own article, but what about adding it to this article? i didn't see it there when i checked... Thanks!

Martel is Definitely not a Villain

Why is she in that section? I would've fixed it myself but I'm unsure as to where I should put her. – Iggy Koopa 22:13, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

Split

Comeon guys, those Character and Plot sections are HUGE. They need to be relocated elsewhere. Also, the main characters have their own articles, so a lot of that is just repeated information.--SeizureDog 10:32, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

I went ahead and did a rough split myself. Someone can clean it up better.--SeizureDog 08:26, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Wow, that's infinitely better. Many thanks. Patrician Vetinari 20:34, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Anime and manga

With the anime style of the video game, as well as the cutscenes, plus an upcoming OVA set for 2007, this particular game in the Tales series is now covered by the Anime and manga WikiProject. --Geopgeop 18:32, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Areas and Races

I think there should be a section giving the different areas, (cities, towns, villages, dungeons, etc) of ToS, Baten Kaitos has one, and the different races of ToS as well, like Bleach (anime). ToSfan4ever 16/08/06

Errors

I quote:

Characters gain an additional defense called Guardian, which defends against magical attacks.

and

Receiving damage fills the Unison Meter; when filled completely, a Unison Attack can be triggered.

The errors in bold;

  • Not all of the characters gain "guardian". Even though the technique is the same, it's called "Force Field" in the case of Genis and Raine Sage. This is only one example. I don't exactly know all of the seperate defensive teqniques' names, but it would be good if someone can change this.
  • The Unison gauge fills up by hitting an enemy when it's not guarding, and when you take damage.
  • I think this "meter" is actually called the Unison Gauge, as can be read in the explanation about Unison attacks received after a short skit between Lloyd and Kratos. --Nin 10:10, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
The defensive technique is called Damage Guard for Colette, Bastion for Regal, Earthly Protection in Presea's case, and Sheena's is Guardian Seal. 64.231.125.225 20:49, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Plot info?

What happened to all of the information that was at Tales of Symphonia/Detailed Plot Outline? Now we have a stupid "expand pls" tag when there was too much information as it was in the old plot outline. How annoying >:| --SeizureDog 00:52, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

The old plot outline was a copyright violation and was deleted. Pagrashtak 02:25, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Boohiss. How frustrating. --SeizureDog 19:25, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Is this notable (music-related)?

Some of the music in Symphonia is similar to music in Phantasia.

  • The music that plays in Symphonia when the party is flying the Rheiards is almost the same as the music that plays in Phantasia when the party is flying the Techbirds, but with a different intro.
  • The music that plays in Tethe'alla's forests in Symphonia is similar to the music that plays in Treantwood in Phantasia.
  • The tune of the music that plays when the party is fighting Summon Spirits in Symphonia is the same as the Summon Spirit battle music from Phantasia (though this is probably the most obvious for those who have played both games, or at least it was for me).
  • The victory themes for both Symphonia and Phantasia have the same intro, but the rest is different.

This article doesn't have a trivia section, so I don't know where to put this (I don't think music is notable enough to put in the section regarding links to Phantasia).

Longest Storyline? (Correct me if I'm wrong)

I do believe, please correct me if Im wrong, that this game has the longest storyline out of any video game. The 80 hour storyline seems to be unmatched by any other game I've seen.

--Randompersonn 19:28, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

It only took me 42 hours on my first playthrough, and that was with a fair amount of sidequests. I've played many RPGs that took me longer. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.231.125.225 (talk) 20:51, 21 February 2007 (UTC).

Kendre13 (talk) 14:50, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Another game in the series took me far longer, and that was Tales of Legendia (if you deign to fully complete the game via the Character Quests). Elder Scrolls games easily outstrip ToS in Play-Time. I played for over 200 hours on Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind and still hadn't beaten every quest. ES4: Oblivion was even longer. I've played many games that took longer to beat.

Yuan

Would it be appropriate to give Yuan his own page? He has only a small mention in the Allies section here, but it seems odd that Botta and Pronyma have pages and he doesn't. IMFromKathlene 20:22, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Yuan did have his own page, but it was turned into a redirect by Pagrashtak. I'm not sure why this occured, but I do believe that Yuan should have his own page. Patrician Vetinari 00:43, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Do you think it'd be appropriate to revert it to its previous page? I'd do it but I don't actually know how to revert pages ><.IMFromKathlene 06:16, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
It's probably not a bad idea. Does anyone has any objections...? Patrician Vetinari 14:21, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Doesn't look like it. Also, it seems odd that Regal's the only playable character without his own page. I'm not sure if he is notable enough to deserve one, since he is probably the one with the least backstory (and he's probably the least liked, though he might have competition from Colette). IMFromKathlene 03:20, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Okay, I've reverted the Yuan page back. As for Regal, I don't think he's important enough to deserve his own page. All in all, he's not a very interesting character, and he doesn't have a very interesting past. I think giving him a section of the List of characters in Tales of Symphonia page is enough. Patrician Vetinari 03:44, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough. There's nothing else to cover than what's on that page, really.IMFromKathlene 18:16, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Please see Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) for an explanation of why Yuan (and many other related articles for that matter) should not be a stand-alone article. My apologies for the late reply; I've been away for some time. Pagrashtak 20:56, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Given the guidelines for fiction notability, any objections to changing Yuan back to a redirect? Pagrashtak 00:29, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
As long as the information about Yuan from that separate page is on the redirected page and the redirect actually points somewhere it's fine by me. Previously he had a really short mention and the #Yuan part didn't seem to point anywhere. IMFromKathlene 09:27, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Then I suggest you copy anything over you want to save. I don't see too much there after removing non-encyclopedic content (such as the entire Boss Battle section). The same goes for Botta and other minor characters. Pagrashtak 21:55, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Manga

I've seen images of a Tales of Symphonia manga series. Does anyone know if it's still on-going? I've heard recently that the fourth volume has just come out. Should this be included into the article (that there is a manga)?

If I remember correctly, there was no manga on this series yet, but they are making an anime on this. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Q E11even 03:08, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
There is a manga. Check it out here: [1]. It looks like it's still on-going though. 142.58.79.2 21:44, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you, I stand corrected but happy. Q E11even 00:27, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

GRADE Limit/shared techs

There's a remark in here that the GRADE limit in normal and hard mode is +/-10. I don't know for sure what it actually is, but it's most definitely not 10. I've gotten up to +20 in both of those modes. Can anyone confirm/deny that it's actually +/-20? Also, unrelatedly, I removed a line in the section about connections with Phantasia about how many characters share techs, as the same can be said of ANY two Tales games, and therefore it is not a sign of the relationship between the two games at all. 69.234.144.6 12:53, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Phantasia to Symphonia, 4000 years?

Okay, we've all seen the evidence that the games are related. But four thousand years apart? I'm going to need a bit of evidence before I can believe that. The events in Tales of Symphonia occur four thousand years before Phantasia, then how can the characters Symphonia refer to a mana cannon as "Thor's Hammer"? Thor was an ancient country, yes, but I remember it being... a bit less than four thousand years old. That might be wrong, as I haven't gone through Tales of Phantasia for over three years, but there are other inconsistencies, too.

Cless's last name, for example. It's theorized that he is a descendant of Lloyd, and that his last name is nearly the same as a result of this. Now, granted that names can go through small spelling changes like "Irvin" to "Arvien", but the truth is over four thousand years, the name, at least, as an extension of Lloyd's line, would not exist anymore. For it to exist, Lloyd's line would have to have atleast one male descendant for every generation. That's highly improbable, so the only way for Cless to have the name "Alvein" is if one of Lloyd's female descendants recently married a man named "Alvein" (From his father to one of his great-great grandfathers or so, likely) Next up is that the Alvein Kenjitsu is a mixture of Lloyd's, Kratos', and Regal's. Every one who has ever formally trained in the martial arts before knows that "As you get further away from the original instructor of the technique, the form of the technique changes" meaning that after four thousand years the Alvein Sword Arts would most likely only barely resemble the techniques of Regal, Kratos, and Lloyd.

The "Suzu as a descendant of Sheena" theory would also be debunked by there being a four thousand year space in between the games, for the same reasons as Cless. And really, after four thousand years, you don't share enough chromosomes for it to matter.

Also, the information on the Tales of Symphonia article states that some the cities of Phantasia are in or near the locations of Symphonia's cities. The legend of the Pirate "Ifreed/Aifread" would not persist after four thousand years, and the very slow technological growth seen from one game to the other is also confusing.

All in all, it seems like the games are more or less with in the range of less than half a thousand years in distance. Most likely with Symphonia occuring in what will later become known as Aselian Calendar year 4000 or around there, with the end of the Great Kharlan War and the rise of Cruxis being more or less 4000 years prior. The loss of exspheres would explain a lull or even back-step in technology, but it would not persist for more than a a few hundred years. (Phantasia occurs as early as 4202 and late as 4354).

Also, on the issue of "Thor" and the other countries. If Thor existed prior to Symphonia's events, then why are the Vorpal sword and Flamberge credited to having belonged to those countries? Dirk made the Vorpal sword, so unless there's another one lying around (And in essence, another Eternal Sword lying around), that's not possible.

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but I have not seen any solid evidence of there being a 4000 year intermission, and am less than conviced.

71.32.60.31 05:14, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

I agree - The two world were created to avoid mass scale production of magitechnology which wastes mana - in Phantasia the same problem is going on and it's the sole reason why Dhaos is attacking the humans. Even if Lloyd and the others managed to put out some anti-magitechnology propaganda it probably wouldn't take TOO long for Magitech to develop again. I'd give it a bit more then 4202, Genis is a half-elf and lives for a fairly long period of time - with the time travel in Phantasia there would have to be at least a significant gap in the timeline to avoid hearing stories about Lloyd etc. In fact - Luin, the city whose name suggests it get's destroyed over and over and rebuilt had to of been destroyed again otherwise we'd see those statues. 4000 years is way to much - but maybe 500-1000. Gelsamel 14:29, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
If it were only 500 years later, Genis and Raine would still be alive. And 1000 years later, when Cless and Mint go back in time 100 years, they'd go back to a time when Genis and Raine were still alive, plus in their time, since 1000 years is such a short time after they've died, there would still be stories about them. No, it'd have to be longer than 500-1000 years. Also, the last name thing doesn't always depend on the males. In Japan, where the game originates, sometimes the man will take the woman's last name in marriage, and then there's the cases in which the parents are not married at all and the child could take the mother's last name. Then comes the case of Magitech. Sure it would've developed soon enough, but in Phantasia, the tree was dying due to mana exhaustion, meaning there wouldn't really be enough mana to support too much, and there is evidence of more advanced civilizations that aren't around anymore. If you look at it like that, it very well may have been 4000 years later --Cutepresea 19:33, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
First the tree has to grow. In Phantasia the tree has already grown to a massive size and then begun to die again, this would take a very, very long time. Derris Karhlan has to run out of mana, this would take ages considering that it is a planet-sized ball of mana. Fujibayashi is a clan name, not a birth name Sheena is given the name Fujibayashi by her "grandfather" who is the current clan leader. This means that as long as the clan is alive then all chief will be given the name fujibayashi (various skits support this in both games). Albane to Irving and Ifreed to Alfried is never really confirmed to be direct links. The only name that stays the same from Symphonia to Phantasia is Fujibayashi. Sure they have there similarities, but aside from speculation and translation issues there is no real evidence to support the fact that the names are related. The Vorpal sword is given to (Fenrir?) by Lloyd ("the hero" mentioned in phantasia) thus the ancient civilization must be made and destroyed before phantasia but after symphonia. Thor is either a) a karhlan war remnant or b)built after symphonia around the mana cannon which was left intact. Either one fits with the 4000 year time line (for the same reason as Fenrir, the civilization must be built, then destroyed). The Asleain timeline mentioned in ToP is 4000+ years. It can be assumed that this would start from the fusion of the worlds. It'll be interesting to note if ToS;KoR uses Aselian timeline year 1 (the map in this game is the same as phantasia) And finally in ToP Dhaos states he watched over the continent for melinneia so it has to be at least that old.Sylvanelite 11:11, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
If it helps, Aifread and Ifreed (or however they were spelled) were written the exact same way in the Japanese versions of ToP and ToS. Different translators caused it to be spelled differently in the English versions. Cutepresea (talk) 20:28, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

I don't think there's anything that cites the year it takes place before so I may remove that info unless it can be cited.DragonZero (talk) 03:18, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Cliché?

Did the people who claim this play past the first act? I mean, I'm no RPG encyclopedia myself, but I find it hard to believe there have been that many other RPGs with so many unexpected plot twists.. starting out somewhat cliche, revealing it all to be a plot, the revised goal of the heroes actually being the opposite of what they want, finally learning the truth.. I mean they didn't bother to even disguise Yggdrasil, but other than that.. if it's cliché or predictable, then I must be pretty dumb.

No it really is. And does anyone else find this game really disturbing? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.36.89.42 (talk) 22:50, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

It's very Cliche in the first part of the game, perhaps up to the tower of slavation? for the first time (which is not very far into the game). But aside from that it's not very cliche, how many other games have two separate worlds that joust for mana, and each has a chosen one bestowed with the same task? There are far more cliche plots out there. p.s. no this game is not disturbing why would it be?Sylvanelite 11:15, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Kendre13 (talk) 15:03, 16 December 2008 (UTC) As for this game being cliche, I have to agree with Sylvanite that not many games have the two competitve world thing going on. However it is used often. In a sense it could be compared to Heaven and Hell competing for souls. Which is a standard enough theme in games. I mean they even used the term "Angels", and as well, Niflheim is the Underworld. There are also various other cliches, including the clumsy hero (Colette), the duty-bound, stoic ninja/konuichi (Sheena), the stupid warrior (Lloyd), the battle-hardened mercenary (Kratos), the pervert (Zelos), the excessively intelligent child (Genis), the suffering child (Presea) the convict/falsely accused (Regal). Need I continue? ALso the "Affection" thing is becoming rather common throughout games. The betrayal aspect has been flitting through games for years. This game is extremely cliched, but begins to get better towards the end. Despite these shortcomings, I would still say that it is a wonderful game with an in-depth storyline. I've enjoyed playing it several times.

Sequel confirmed?

As exciting as that is, I'd rather wait for a printed/website source before we add anything. It will be more solid that way. Jezebel Parks 16:54, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Alright, how's this for a source? Just something that I picked up. :) magiciandude (Talk) (review) 16:58, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

The Article is lacking neutrality in a lot of places, particularly in the Plot Overview (i.e. "The rich subplots of loyalty, companionship, betrayal, and... ...offering a great deal of drama and intrigue to the story.") and the 'Themes' section. Try to remember that the article is meant to be a source of information and NOT a review, Wikipedia is not a front for video game shrines. If editors of the article have opinions to express, they can do so elsewhere (gamefaqs.com, etc).

While I do agree with that I don't see what this has to do with adding information about a verfiable sequal to the article. --67.71.79.232 22:14, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

ToP

The section on ToP has way too much information about the plot of the game, including a big spoiler on the nature of Dhaos. Also, as stated above, the plot overview paragraph ("The rich subplots of loyalty,...") is incredibly opionated. 68.54.135.107 15:56, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

on the contrary

it actually shows less than it shows in the game there is a lot more to it than just that if you do some reasearch you find that there is aproxamatly 60 times more info on dhaos than the artical here shows —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mirrorofsauron (talkcontribs) 16:14, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

That's fine: the list never claims to be exhaustive. In fact, since it's entirely composed of original research, it shouldn't even be on the page. Patrician Vetinari (talk) 21:01, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

OVA section

It states that Presea, Regal, Rodyle, and Mithos were introduced in only the last few seconds of the fourth part. But Rodyle, if anyone remembers, was in part 3 next to Pronyma after the Ascard (Asgard) Human Ranch was destroyed. I just wanted to know if anyone opposed to removing his name from that statement before I actually did it. Cutepresea (talk) 20:32, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Original Research in the "Links to Phantasia" Section

I know that the "Links to Tales of Phantasia" section of this article is one of the most comprehensive parts of the page, but it is almost exclusively comprised of unsourced original research. As such, I think it would be best to remove the entire section from this page; however, I feel it is important to establish consensus among the article's other editors before taking such drastic measures. What are your thoughts on the erasure of the "Links to Phantasia" section? Do the merits of keeping it outweigh its violation of accepted Wiki-policy? Patrician Vetinari (talk) 22:03, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Remove. Original research is not allowed on Wikipedia. This section, being unsourced, fails verifiability as well.Mr T (Based) (talk) 10:09, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
All right, I've gone ahead and removed the section. This should make the article much more readable. Patrician Vetinari (talk) 03:04, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Lets see if some too-enthusiastic fans revert.Mr T (Based) (talk) 12:15, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

What is this I don't even

"Tales of Symphonia's characteristic genre name is To Resonate With You RPG (君と響きあうRPG Kimi to hibiki au RPG?)." Is someone really implying this sentence makes any sense whatsoever as it is? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.197.128.229 (talk) 17:54, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

Ova

Would you apply and add the "list of (title) episodes for the ova? Also, add the information for the ova "Tellahen"". Thank you! :) 76.228.37.30 (talk) 01:43, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
