Also known as: CHOICE OF PURPOSE or (Choice of Target) 1974 Mosfilm Studios director: Igor Talankin writers: Daniil Granin & Igor Talankin Literary script published in SOVIET LIERATURE 1976, issue 4 The film tells the story of the making of the atomic bomb in America, Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union and particularly the part played by Soviet scientist Igor Kurchatov, father of the Soviet Atom Bomb. It does tend to leave out any information about KGB spies stealing American nuclear secrets to help the Soviets get a bomb pretty quickly.
