editSurely this page should be more about what the West Aussie TRG is, rather than what the NSW TRG was? Battle Ape 08:29, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Why not simply create a new page forWAPol TRG? ie: Western Australia Police Tactical Response Group. QldPol SERT has its own specific page on account of the SERT accronym being used by other agencies around the place as does VicPol SOG. As we see here with the TRG name more than one agency uses it. I'd argue that a comparitive page about WAPol TRG couldn't be created with as much information as the NSWPol one to deserve having the 'rpimary' rights to the article title TRG as it's a current unit and by virtue a secretive one without an online history availible to reference.
WA Police should be the only article

With what little info is availible and not wanting to publish 'inside' non-public released information I've knocked up one very dodgy but passable Western Australia Police Tactical Response Group just for you. [Unsigned contribution].
- Surely this unit is no more or less significant than The Police Air Wing and should equally be regarded as part of Western Australia Police—which will greatly assist any reader to comprehend the whole story of policing in WA. I can only imagine that the NSW and Qld police are on a mammoth ego trip to want separate (un)encyclopedic entries on every unit, including some which went out of existence long ago (eg, SWOS. This is a non-article
editOr at least, it's about a nostalgic police unit which has not existed for 18 years. It's successor units are adequately covered elsewhere, so I suggest we move on and delete the article. Otherwise incorporate it as a section of history within the NSW Police article. Bjenks (talk) 10:27, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Proposed merger into History section of NSW Police

This article and the one on Special Weapons and Operations Squad deal with long-abandoned units of the NSW Police, or rather with styles of organisation which have been modified into a contemporary system. I.e., the SWOS/TRG functions have essentially been renamed. My proposal is to synopsise the content into a subsection under History, and point to the currently functioning units—the State Protection Group and the Public Order and Riot Squad. - Obviously this proposal is uncontroversial. Bjenks (talk) 06:35, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
