Fabless Companies
The fabless companies listed are misleading, AMD and Intel are certainly not fabless. If you want to point out the concept of a fabless company that's fine, but if that is the case then Intel and AMD should not be listed. It should be stated that some companies with fabs also use TSMC.--173.53.68.227 (talk) 18:08, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Revenue figures
I found it curious that TSMC's revenue is 10 times smaller than UMC (United Microelectronics Corporation) and yet UMC is second largest micro-electronics company in Taiwan. Are those revenue figures in both company quoted correctly??
You are confusing US $ and NT $ or "New Taiwan" Dollars. TSMC revenue is aprox 3X that of UMC. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.23.153.22 (talk) 03:45, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
Naming
I think this is one of the few cases where the acronym is more appropriate than the full title, like NASA.--Jiang 07:56, 11 Feb 2004 (UTC)
I just moved TSMC to its long name. TSMC is redirected to the long name. Does this work? Mistikal 08:00, 11 Feb 2004 (UTC)
- Take a look at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (acronyms). I moved it back. And welcome, BTW. --Jiang 08:02, 11 Feb 2004 (UTC)
- Sure, sounds reasonable. Thanks, i'm still new here.
Ok, I'm going to do a Chinese translation of this article (and perhaps add a bit more stuff) but should I use 台積電 (abbriviated form) or the full name? Should I just follow this English version's case? --Zephirum 05:37, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)
it's done. --Zephirum 11:41, 5 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Many high-tech fabless companies like ..., Intel, ... For goodness' sake, Intel is NOT FABLESS!!! I don't even know how to edit the Introduction section, there's no edit button there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.197.19.169 (talk) 17:37, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

P.S.: Sorry if this isn't the correct place to point this out. I don't quite know yet how the wiki works and I don't have an account yet. Thanks.

Fair use rationale for Image:Tsmc.png
Image:Tsmc.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:17, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
