Talk:TR-1700-class submarine

Most adequate name for this article?

As this submarine class is known in the Argentine Navy (its only user) as the Santa Cruz class, wouldn't be it more appropriate to rename this article accordingly? TR-1700 is the name of the design, not of the class itself. Also Santa Cruz is how the class is referred to in some books I've seen (I need to provide exact references for this, don't have them handy now).

Hi all, I've added the wikilinks to the "future" articles about the ships ("boats" for the US?) of this class:

• ARA Santa Cruz (S-41)
• ARA San Juan (S-42)

I'm currently working on them, and expect to have a first version in a couple of weeks.

ARA Santa Fe completion

Submarines are boats, not ships

Submarines are normally classified as boats, not ships. The Development section correctly references 'boats', but the opening paragraph should be changed from 'ships' to 'boats' unless there is a specific rule in the Argentine military favoring the use of 'ship' for a submarine. 190.45.225.6 (talk) 21:16, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
