T.J. Oshie is also the Alternate Captain of the St. Louis Blues. Every other NHL alternate captain has this listed in their Wikipedia page, Oshie's is missing.

Requesting a source/revision

Hey guys. In the "Early Years" section is the following claim:

"Following his parents' BDSM getaway, he lived in Stanwood with his mother Tina and attended Stanwood High School for his freshman year"

Now, I'd like to point out two things.

1. This sentence seems to make the claim that T.J. Oshie's parents went on some sort of sexual retreat in which they participated in a BDSM orgie. There is no source given for this claim.

2. Even if a source is given, what purpose does including this bit of information serve? This article is about a professional hockey player and Olympian, not his parents' sexual persuasion.

With all that said, I would request that a source be provided. If none can be provided this bizarre claim should be removed.

My first editing suggestion is to change the wording in the first paragraph, it is confusing and tries to cover too much information. Also, including information about his success in the Olympics may be a good idea for the first paragraph, considering that is one of the main reasons why he is well-known. The information in the page does a good job of remaining neutral and unbiased, which is especially difficult because it is tempting to use favorable language and call him a "good" hockey player, or refer to one of the teams included in the article with a biased perspective. The article is cited thoroughly and uses unbiased sources. The information covers his professional career, but the section on T.J.'s heritage and personal life is significantly shorter.

Morrissey "body slamming" him on ice

The fine ($8,467.74) defenseman Josh Morrissey earned in the November 14, 2018 Winnipeg Jets game — "the maximum allowable under the league’s collective bargaining agreement" — was for "interference/unsportsmanlike conduct" against Oshie and NOT for the hit that preceded it:

• "Morrissey’s hit isn’t the point of contention here, but that he threw Oshie down to the ice afterwards and caused an injury."
• "Morrissey slammed Oshie down to the ice in the last minute, and Oshie came up woozy after his head hit the surface."
• 'Capitals coach Todd Reirden said after the game. “Vulnerable player that’s thrown to the ice."'
• 'the first comparison that comes to mind is Mike Matheson’s throwdown on Vancouver’s Elias Pettersson in October. Matheson got a two-game suspension for “interference/unsportsmanlike conduct.”'
