Edit of Paragraph 1
edit- Correction to the above statement: STS was capable of 9600 baud on all lines using the "Comcard", which was the 8 port multiport serial adaptor that was shipped with STS. Base version of STS were capable of 10 lines (8 comcard ports + 2 comports), later versions allows the use of Com4 and Com3 in a polled mode. You could have your STS station re-compiled by the software authors to allow for a further 8 or 16 lines bringing the total to 20 or 28 lines effectively. These were not software hacks but a feature of the sofware. As of version 2.0 of STS, I beleive, the capability to use 19.2kbs was added, although this did not work well on the ports that utilized the "Comcard".
Need Access to STS for Article Expansion
editI'd like to expand this article to record more about STS which was a big part of my youth, but I'm unaware of any active systems. If you're aware of a running system, please contact me or update the article so we can continue preserving STS for generations to come. cwawak Fri Nov 19 2021
