Davis has worked as a nurse, nurse anesthetist, and cattle producer.[4][5] Davis was elected to the South Dakota House of Representatives in November 2020 and assumed office on January 12, 2021, succeeding Ray Ring.[6] On January 4, 2022 she announced her candidacy for the District 17 State Senate seat.[7]|Davis has worked as a nurse, nurse anesthetist (CRNA), and cattle producer. As a member of the South Dakota Senate, Davis passed 11 prime sponsored bills and 58 co-sponsored bills. During the 2023 legislative session Davis sponsored and had signed into law:
HB 1059- establish community paramedic endorsement.
HB 1079- make an appropriation to the Department of Health to provide grants to support mental health and suicide prevention programs, and to declare an emergency.
HB 1285- create a critical care endorsement for emergency medical technician-paramedics.
As a Senator in 2023 Davis served on the Senate Education, Senate Select Committee on Discipline and Expulsion, Senate State Affairs, and was Vice-Chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee.
Davis’s campaign page states her legislative focus is towards rural medical services, economic development, and family first legislation.
