Syco profits misinterpretation edit

"Cowell claims Syco accounted for approximately 40% of Sony Music Entertainment profit in 2006, despite only employing 14 people.[1] By 2008, it was believed that Syco accounted for as much as 70% of Sony profits. cowell is also manipulative says direction fans. it has also been suggested that syco has gone under since Louis Tomlinson left[2]"

its called syco cause that's what Simon is I believe this is a major misinterpretation. Syco most probably accounts for 70% of "Sony Music UK" to which it is in joint venture with. It is NOT 70% of Sony Music Entertainment as a global parent (that would simply be ludicrous- the entire company might just as well be called Syco Music and Simon Cowell would be at the helm as an executive). Also in the reference it says "Sony BMG" has 400 employees versus Syco which has only 16. 400 employees makes sense for the UK branch, while the parent logically has a couple of thousands all over the globe, reinforcing the idea that he is referring to "Sony Music UK". established edit

How can Syco have been established in 2002 and yet have artist during the 90's? They may have been involved with cowell, but not with Syco. Khukri 19:24, 22 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

This has been changed. Conay (talk) 22:55, 29 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Rebecca Ferguson, etc edit

The Sun's article isn't dead - it's here. It says "Rebecca Ferguson, One Direction and Cher Lloyd have joined winner Matt Cardle by all signing contracts with his company Syco", although it's from December and more recent articles suggested that 1D hadn't been signed. But just pointing that out. Also, after The X Factor ended last year, Syco did confirm on Twitter that the final four had all been signed. Here is the report that says Ferguson was given a joint contract with Epic and Syco. I think just because a recent report only mentions Epic, doesn't mean she's not signed to Syco. Also, is a Syco logo on a website really a good enough source to say someone is signed to Syco? –anemoneprojectors– 13:19, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hmm... strange that RJSBot tagged the reference as dead. I believe all four artists are indeed signed to syco... having Syco appear on their websites is pretty convincing IMO. Especially considering 1D have mentioned Simon's involvement and other sources have noted Rebecca being involved with Epic/Syco. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 17:43, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Was the reference entered incorrectly before, or was it really not dead? I didn't actually check, I just assumed it was dead and Googled the headline. Although the Syco label is a good indicator, people attempting to verify it may miss this, especially searching the page for "Syco". I'd rather use The Sun's article instead. –anemoneprojectors– 21:34, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Joe McElderry edit

Are we now gonna refer to Joe as dropped per The Guardian]? — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 05:02, 24 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Apparently he's still signed until the end of his contract in May, so I think we're waiting a bit. –anemoneprojectors– 11:44, 24 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

New game show edit

Hi I am trying to contact someone in Simon Cowell's organisation, as our company has developed a new and novel game show which will be suitable for both TV and internet. How do I find the right person? Howard — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.20.3.242 (talk) 11:30, 3 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
