Notablility edit

Should be deleted as the individual is not a notable personality. (As seen below)

This person is a business news broadcaster on CNBC. All the articles extablishing her notability are referenced in the article. Thanks.--History Sleuth (talk) 20:04, 30 September 2009 (UTC) (she was an unpaid intern at CNBC)Reply

Following links establish her notability clearly.

--24.128.188.175

IP User 24.128.188.175 is posting from Cambridge and appears to be some jealous colleague trying to downgrade this person. None of her comments would appear to establish lack of notability. Further her comments would qualify as OR as they are not sourced from reliable secondary source. Harbus is a reputable magazine published by Harvard Business School. A full article dedicated to this person would establish notability. Anchoring of HBS Market Minute and internship at CNBC establishes this person as an upcoming financial journalist.
Please review some of the edits for malicious attacks from jealous individuals before considering to delete or do anything else with this article. Thanks.--History Sleuth (talk) 03:06, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yahoo News Reference

Please see this journalist reported by Yahoo News which also mentions her as CNBC producer.

"The face of MBA PodTV is Mia Saini, a second year Harvard Business School student. An MIT graduate and previous CNBC financial producer, Saini sits down with various experts across the field to ask them the questions MBA applicants want to know. While most applicants rarely have the opportunity to visit their targeted business schools, let alone interview admissions' directors, MBA PodTV helps bridge the gap between schools and applicants"

http://news.yahoo.com/s/prweb/20091028/bs_prweb/prweb3117134

From Wikipedia's standpoint these sources would appear to be sufficient to establish notability as Yahoo News is reliable secondary source (and so is Harbus which contains a dedicated article on this person). Thanks. --History Sleuth (talk) 03:51, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please assume good faith when referring to other contributors. I agree that Harbus is reputable, however the pure fact that they have interviewed the person does not make *them* notable. She was an intern, evidenced by Yahoo's use of "financial producer". With regard to MBA PotTV, we have more work done as a student. So she may be notable to Harvard students, but not to the rest of the world. Thedarxide (talk) 08:26, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Thedarxide. The good faith is generally assumed but in this case it is clear that the IP user is from Cambridge, Boston and probably knows Mia in person and is out to sabotage her prospects. Otherwise, s(he) would not be privy to the information she claims to know and has posted...and why would s(he) choose to post an information for which no reliable secondary source verification (volunteer, etc) exists? Why should wikipedia editors believe in anonymous personal commentary over reliable sources like Yahoo news. The commentary given above by IP user is in bad taste and meant to belittle somebody's legitimate achievement. It is not everybody gets invited as "volunteer" at CNBC. How many people are able to get to work as financial producer at CNBC? There is no proof that IP user's commentary is not misleading and not written with malicious intent.
Further , MBA Podcast TV is not specific to Harvard Business School. It has international audience reaches out far beyond USA. So your point about her notability being restricted to HBS may not be entirely fair. How does the mere fact of still being at student at a top notch business school disqualify notability established through an independent reliable source like Yahoo News?

MBA Podcaster, which can be treated as another independent and reliable source, contains following information about her.

Mia Saini is a video host and producer for MBA PodTV. Mia graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a double major in computational neuroscience and media studies and a double minor in civil engineering and management science from MIT Sloan School of Management. At MIT, she was chosen as a Truman Scholar and Rhodes Scholar Finalist. After MIT, Mia worked at Goldman Sachs in New York on the Hedge Fund Sales team before leaving to be a financial TV reporter for TheStreet.com covering capital markets, investments, and the global economy. She has worked at NASA Ames Research Center, CNN, Warner Brothers, and most recently as a producer for Squawk Box at CNBC. She is currently a second year MBA student at Harvard Business School, where she is the Founder and Anchor of HBS TV and on the Board of Directors of Harbus, HBS’s student-run newspaper.

I hope you would consider the above issue before doing anything further with this article. Regards.--History Sleuth (talk) 17:40, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Mia was never a producer at CNBC. She was an intern. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.210.199.231 (talkcontribs) 20:42, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Not 'prospective' anymore edit

Greetings Thedarxide. Please see below here a new item covered by this person at TheStreet.com founded by Jim Cramer which is a highly reputable source news source investment banking. It is misleading to describe somebody who has worked at a reputable and established financial news networks like theStreet.com and CNBC as 'prospective', imho.

Notablility edit

History Sleuth: what is your relationship to the person named in this page? Second, what happened to the history of initial edits that occurred with an IP located on the Harvard Business School campus? (IP address 128.103.221.143 pointing to harvard.edu) This isn't revenge, or spite. It's upholding the standards of wikipedia

I have no relation with the person this article is about. I have never met or communicated with her in any form whatsoever. My acquaintance with her is limited to Harbus article dedicated to her and other cited news sources in the article which manifestly seem to qualify her for notability for wikipedia purposes. I don't know who posted from 128.103.221.143 . I have merely supplied the missing references within wiki guidelines to address the tags and have no co-ordination with any other editor of this article.
Secondly , your concern for "upholding the standards of wikipedia" is truly appreciated but if you are that concerned, please care to become registered user and consider contributing with transparency and responsibility. Your conmmentary above about 'volunteering' , etc violates wiki rules about OR and could even be deemed as libelous unless you back it up with reliable secondary source references. Dissection or questioning of citations is not permitted on wikipedia.
Lastly, please do not delete the signature because ip of the editor can be easily found out from history. So deleting the ip address or signature is a futile exercise if anonimity is the objective. Thanks--History Sleuth (talk) 17:16, 3 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism attempts by anonymous IP user from Cambridge/Massachusetts edit

Please take note of the following IP users. Both of them are probably socks of the same anonymous user from Cambridge Masachussets (Mia Saini's current residence) who has made malicious edits on this article before:

71.192.163.82
24.128.188.175

Notability tag has been removed because it was established clearly. This user also did not consider it necessary to address the points on discussion page before trying to put up this well sourced stub for deletion.

Normally good faith argument would apply but the way this unregistered anonymous user has sought to destroy this stub, and considering that her IP traces to HBS or surrounding area, this person either knows Mia Saini personally or has obsessive interest in belittling or devaluing her personage.

Please address the points on this discussion page before tagging it again. Otherwise, persistent vandalism and malicious tagging will be dealt with within Wikipedia guidelines. Thanks.--History Sleuth (talk) 02:55, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Edit request on 26 November 2012 edit

Moved here from Wikipedia talk:New contributors' help page -- John of Reading (talk) 08:02, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Current entry is outdated in 4 areas.

1.) Her current job entry is outdated. Mia Saini has been a TV Reporter at Bloomberg TV since June 2011. Please add the following line as taken from her bio from the following source: http://www.bloomberg.com/personalities/

Mia Saini currently is a Hong Kong-based reporter for Bloomberg Television. She joined the network in June 2011 and covers business, economics, and global markets. She frequently serves as a substitute anchor.

2.) The current line says "She is currently an anchor/reporter for Forbes Video Network, covering markets, business, economic and political news." Instead it should read, "Prevoiusly she worked as an anchor/reporter for Forbes Video Network where she interviewed varius CEOs, money mangers, and politcians including former FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair, Blackstone co-founder Pete Peterson, former Bear Stearns CEO Ace Greenberg, SAP CEO Bill McDermott and more."

3.) The line "She is an alumni of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and is currently studying at Harvard Business School (HBS)" is outdated. It should read: "She is an alumni of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and graduated from the Harvard Business School(HBS)."

4.) The line: "She is currently a video host for MBA Pod TV on www.MBAPodcaster.com " is outdated. It should read: "She used to be a video host for MBA Pod TV on www.MBAPodcaster.com."
