"Controversies" section

edit

USaamo has restored the section removed by me. I had removed it per WP:RECENTISM and WP:10YEARTEST:

  1. The "Open letter regarding Padmavaat" reads like nothing more than a newspaper headline. Thousands of actors make lakhs of controversial statements every year; WP:Wikipedia is not a newspaper to warrant its mention here.
  2. The "Comment on child co-actor" is similar to the above. Swara was not convicted for the same, making the case insignificant for Wikipedia.
  3. Her being a vocal critic of the CAA is hardly a "Controversy". While the cases were lodged against her (and a thousand others), she has not been convicted, which makes their mention here unnecessary. At most, we can mention her personal opinions on CAA under a separate section, maybe "Personal life".  Kylo Ren III  (talk ☎️) 14:34, 13 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
I've a removed the section. The second one is an obvious BLP violation and contains original research. In general "controversy" sections should be avoided per WP:CSECTION, the first two incidents have momentary coverage at best which isn't appropriate for inclusion. Re: #3: Her role in anti-CAA protests is indeed noteworthy since it has come to define her public image. USaamo's reverts happened way back in the day and I find it surprising you are raising an objection (even if valid) this late. Murtaza.aliakbar (talk) 22:07, 21 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Murtaza.aliakbar, I created this Talk page discussion immediately following USaamo's reverts. I have restored the only WP:NPOV sentence of value.  Kylo Ren III  (talk ☎️) 19:40, 23 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
I only remember adding #3 under the section 'Public life' back then.[1] Someone later on renamed that section to controversies. I don't know whether all are noteworthy to be on the article or not but her active participation in Anti-CAA definitely is. Glad that it has been reinstated but I think section's previous name will be more appropriate. USaamo (t@lk) 13:39, 27 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

personal life section reads as particularly biased, qualifying statements with unnecessary information such as "all the candidates she supported lost their elections," and that she turned to activism "once her acting career declined." Potatohead2000 (talk) 12:17, 21 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Swara Bhaskar's involvement with anti India movement

edit

Swara Bhaskar's involvement with Anti India movement has risen since 2014 post Indian General Election & since then she has contributed towards numerous anti national activities as a supporter in the disguise of a democratic citizen. Dhiraj Sakunde (talk) 13:05, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
