'My Blue Heaven' and Swamp Thing's apparent death in Gotham edit

I've made a couple of changes to the paragraph concerning Swamp Thing's 'death' and journey to space. The article claimed that Luthor's weapon destroyed Swamp Thing's body, when in actual fact Luthor's weapon destroyed Swamp Thing's psychic connection with the earth. Swamp Thing's body was destroyed by regular ol' napalm.

I also took out the literary interpretation of 'My Blue Heaven,' which describes #56 as an allegory. This sounded like original research, and until some citation is given I suggest it remains deleted.

I was more reluctant to remove the claim that #56 was a particularly popular story, because I actually came onto Wikipedia today in search of the issue's reception. This certainly needs a citation, but rather than remove the claim I am just hoping that citation will be found. --203.45.146.36 (talk) 01:05, 29 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Original Research edit

Just read some more the article, and citations really are needed. If the Pog story really was a comment on the loss of innocence in comics, then cite something. The article is filled with unreferenced literary interpretation of this sort. --203.45.146.36 (talk) 01:09, 29 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

No confrontation with Hawkman edit

The current version of the article claims that Swamp Thing fought Hawkman in V2 #58. That is not true. He did fight a couple of Thanagarians (Hawkman's people), though, and Hawkman made a cameo appearance in the #20s of V2. Luis Dantas (talk) 17:50, 21 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Donald Davidson's Swampman edit

A recent Dinosaur Comic draws attention to the use by Donald Davidson of Alan Moore's origin of Swamp Thing for his Swampman thought experiment in philosophy. See: https://qwantz.com/index.php?comic=4045

Worth a comment? Use of comics in philosophy cross-reference? 2603:7000:3902:B10A:3141:B97F:1719:EC2B (talk) 16:52, 11 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
