Talk:Susie O'Neill

Good day mate Ummm, the medal table says she won the "400m backstroke" at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Firstly, I'm pretty sure that there is no such event as 400m backstroke, and I seriously don't think that Susie competed in this event, let alone won gold in it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.169.218.238 (talk) 23:37, 18 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Susan/Susie edit

As the article itself says, O'Neill's first name is Susan, so I don't think "Susie" is appropriate in the title of the article, or anywhere else, such as links, except just the once in quotes at the beginning (as it is now). The title should be "Susan O'Neill" and "Susie O'Neill" should be redirected to it.

I believe that I once read a newspaper article (possibly in The Age) in which O'Neill's mother was quoted as saying that Susan doesn't like "Susie". It is presumptuous and discourteous to change a person's name this way unless you know the person is comfortable with it. The media probably started it and it's been repeated so often and spread so far that now everyone thinks that's her name. Maybe Susan was just too polite to say anything. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.23.136.187 (talk) 03:22, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
