Awkward start
Is it just me, or does this opening sentence: "Susan Orlean (born October 31, 1955) is an American journalist whose feature writing drolly but affectionately considers "softer" subjects than some of those covered by her colleagues." just seem awkward and cumbersome to read? Photo added
I uploaded a photo of Orlean and included it in the article.
This photo (as I stated on the upload page) is completely okay to use; the author herself offers it on her Web site for anyone writing an article about her.
Just to be on the safe side, I have also written to her to make sure of the ownership of the photo.

On the distortions of her persona in Adaptation
I came here looking to see if there was something about her reaction to how she was portrayed in the movie. If somebody made a movie about me and the screenwriter/director had turned me into a drug addicted murderer, I'd be on the phone to my lawyer in a second. Hey, I just listened to a podcast interview with her where she talks fairly extensively about the movie and her reactions to it over time. That's discussed in this podcast as well.
