This is a basic definition of Supplier Performance Management, a growing trend in the world of Supply Chain Management. There are lots of papers published on it, especially by a leading guru called Sherry Gordon. Both of my refereences to her work have been removed, not sure sure, as I have no connection with Sherry and I do not consider them spam.

I am a little frustrated that my references used int he original post were removed. I refere to supplier evaluation
