This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because the page is merely an alphabetical index of governmental entities intended to provide easier access to these similarly situated entities with a descriptor of the entities provided by the US government archive. An alphabetical index of this sort is not eligible for copyright protection. Moreover, the source cited as the alleged copyright holder is not the original source and, itself, only provided a copy of of already public domain alphabetical index available in the National archive and from the Department of Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Awesomeness.Esq (talkcontribs) 01:47, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

When you copy directly from a source, even one that is compatibly licensed or in the public domain, you need to be clear about where you got the content from. See WP:FREECOPY. I'm presuming this text came from https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Superintendencies_of_Indian_Affairs, which is compatibly licensed, and I've added an edit summary and template repairing and noting the attribution.
