Broadcaster

There seems to be some confusion about the broadcaster. The language seems to indicate the current contract includes Super Bowl LVII because it goes "through the 2022 season", and the 2023 Super Bowl is the culmination of the 2022 season. Anyone have any thoughts? Being wary of edit warting. Jdavi333 (talk) 14:14, 12 February 2020 (UTC)

The posted source specifically lists Fox as the broadcaster for this game. "FOX [sic] Sports with postseason rights to NFC Wild Card games, Divisional Playoff games, the NFC Championship Game and three Super Bowls (LI, LIV & LVII)." I will update the page accordingly. On NFL.com says that the new broadcasting deals will commerce from 2023 Season. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:587:7942:97C7:BC88:1801:14F8:1AA7 (talk) 22:14, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

Official article here from NFL clearly shows Super Bowl being broadcast by CBS in 2023. New deal includes a bridge year Steven a91 (talk) 11:57, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

That means the 2023 season, which is the 2024 Super Bowl. Jdavi333 (talk) 16:08, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

No text about radio broadcasts. Does anyone have enough info to add it?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.53.78.225 (talk) 04:41, 9 January 2023 (UTC)

Kickoff time in Infobox

There is a suggestion to add Kickoff time at Template talk:Infobox American football game#Add Kickoff time after Date. Facts707 (talk) 08:03, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

Controversy section

The section "Voting and transgender rights restrictions controversies" should be renamed, because at a glance, it indicates some sort of connection between the Super Bowl and restricting voting and transgender rights, like transgender people not being able to attend the event. This is obviously not the case, but the section is named strangely enough to where it could cause confusion. I would propose renaming it to something like "Calls for location change," which to my mind would be more accurate. Kafoxe (talk) 19:35, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

How about something like "requests to move the game"? Esolo5002 (talk) 21:15, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
It appears "Calls for location change" has been published. Facts707 (talk) 08:38, 24 January 2023 (UTC) Maybe "Calls to move the game to another state"? Facts707 (talk) 08:08, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

John Hussey

In the Officials section it should link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hussey_(American_football_official), not the disambiguation page. I'm not a confirmed user yet so I can't make the edit because the page is protected but I wanted to point it out. ShukaHusk (talk) 18:39, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

NFL box

That "NFL" box near the top of this page, to the left of "This article is in the scope..." Is that a project banner or something? It looks low-quality somehow. Bad kerning? I don't suppose we can use the NFL's actual logo, right? David10244 (talk) 05:45, 12 February 2023 (UTC)

Taylor Swift halftime show

@Sundayclose and @JMyrleFuller, please take your conversation here and open it up to the public. We need to avoid an edit war and potential blocks on your accounts for violating the 3 revert rule. Jdavi333 (talk) 21:54, 23 November 2022 (UTC)

@Jdavi333: Thanks for your comment. I agree completely, which is why I raised the issue on JMyrleFuller's talk page immediately after I reverted. If that doesn't resolve the issue, I'll bring it here. Sundayclose (talk) 22:53, 23 November 2022 (UTC)

Since Rhianna is the only halftime performer confirmed by the NFL, I'll assume this discussion is closed. Facts707 (talk) 16:03, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

Clean Zone

Should there be a section on the whole Clean Zone issue? It did get struck down by a judge so I'm guessing it is a notable issue. -- Rsrikanth05 (talk) 20:36, 12 February 2023 (UTC)

Texas

How about it is the first Super Bowl played by two Texas born quarterbacks. 206.85.83.6 (talk) 20:59, 12 February 2023 (UTC)

AFL=Australian Football League

The the section referring to Australian players, AFL should link to Australian Football Leagure, not the AFL disambiguation page. 97.82.165.112 (talk) 14:24, 13 February 2023 (UTC)

Lead section

I added to the lead section that "it was the 57th Super Bowl", but this was removed as part of this edit. The edit summary didn't address that point in particular. In my opinion that statement is useful as it does a few things:

  • Defines what a Super Bowl is by including a wikilink to Super Bowl early on
  • Places this particular Super Bowl in its historical context
  • Helps those who aren't familiar with the NFL's Super Bowl numbering convention or are simply unfamiliar with Roman numerals

I think it could be restored and would welcome opinions on this. --Jameboy (talk) 22:14, 17 February 2023 (UTC)

Jesus: He gets us?

Am I missing anything about the Jesus ad in the advertisements or am I looking in the wrong place?Naraht (talk) 01:12, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

My impression is that the Super Bowl adverts are considered quite a big deal generally, though not necessarily significant enough to routinely include in all Super Bowl articles. However, there was widespread coverage of this particular advertisement so I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned in this article. --Jameboy (talk) 22:29, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
