I am surprised to find such a short article on sunglint when it is an active research topic. Scopus lists 14 papers published in 2006 and 2007 related to sunglint, 6 of which have "sunglint" in the title. Also, I know of at least three more papers on the topic published this year. That's great to hear. The Himawari-8 satellite is a nice source of sunglint images and sequences. It is easy to capture from it images that show the specular qualities of calm oceans -- that areas of high reflectivity turn dark blue as the glint passes and that they can show reddening at sunset angles, etc. It's interesting to compare sunglint to the appearance of clouds, and the possibility that clouds can also give a sort of sunglint (to a lesser degree than smooth ocean water).
