Cleanup after move edit

Hi User:Wbm1058, User:Paine Ellsworth it seems the primary topic wasn't fixed post move [1]. I'm struggling with the wording of the PT, so more eyeballs welcome. Regards, Widefox; talk 11:39, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I remembered that I was involved with this at some point, but didn't remember exactly how, and it took me several minutes to find it.
At 01:52, 10 March 2022 Sceptre moved Helianthus annuus to Common sunflower (per RM)
Then, weeks later...
At 21:52, 22 March 2022 Red Slash moved Helianthus to Sunflower without leaving an edit summary explaining why
In his close of Talk:Common sunflower §Requested move 1 March 2022 Sceptre said:
A move discussion from Helianthus to Sunflower may also be a good idea going forward. (closed by non-admin page mover) Sceptre (talk) 01:50, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
So there was Talk:Helianthus#Requested move 14 March 2022,
where Red Slash made a close that was vacated by a move review that was closed by No such user 12:15, 1 April 2022
At 14:16, 1 April 2022 Wbm1058 moved Sunflower to Helianthus over redirect (I didn't leave a summary either, my bad)
My talk archive, hah, April Fools!
I guess I was just working my RM patrol and noticed that No such user was having trouble figuring out how to relist
At 16:38, 21 April 2022 Paine Ellsworth closed that re-opened RM as "no consensus".
So, between Helianthus and Helianthus annuus, we don't really have a PT for Sunflower, but of course we have to default to one of them.
This is a case where MOS:DABORDER #2 applies:
In cases where a small number of main topics are significantly more likely to be the reader's target, several of the most common meanings may be placed at the top, with other meanings below. See Mojave (disambiguation) or Mercury (disambiguation) for examples of this. – wbm1058 (talk) 13:17, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for detailing the history. OK, I'm only going to say the obvious - if we shouldn't have a PT, then that needs fixing as we currently have one. Until then, DABORDER #1 applies. In the meantime I've put it back to #1. Readers navigating currently need this. Widefox; talk 22:10, 5 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
