Talk:Summit High School (Bend, Oregon)

Page move edit

The link cited as the reason for the page move, Wikipedia:Naming conventions (schools), is only a proposal, not policy. I think unless there is another Summit High School in Oregon (there isn't), the city name doesn't need to be added to the qualifier. This was the established naming convention and one editor suggests such usage (state name only in qualifier) on the proposal's talk page. I won't revert the page move until the proposal is accepted, but that's my two cents. Katr67 10:08, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

That section of the guideline has gained consensus, the parts under debate are about how to disambiguate schools on the UK and around the world. The section on naming in the US has consensus. Adam McCormick 16:32, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

what's the mascot? edit

The infobox had it listed as "Storm", the text says "Thundercat", and OSAA lists it as the Storm. I changed the text, but it isn't clear when it became 'Storm'. tedder (talk) 04:04, 18 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

to my knowlage the mascot has always been the storm Cnbdragon (talk) 06:52, 14 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

The sports teams have always been referred to as the "Summit Storm." That's never changed. However, the MASCOT was originally Storm Man, but is now the Thundercat. It's not the Summit Thundercats, still Summit Storm, but the physical representation of "storm" is the the thundercat. I think this is not how most high schools do their mascots, which is probably leading to the confusion. [former student] 24.20.165.55 (talk) 06:00, 24 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
