The church pictured on this page was not built by Independent Baptists. It was originally a Union Church, built by the Ozark & Cherokee Central Railroad when they were laying track from Fayetteville, AR. to Okmulgee, OK. The railroad service was opened in 1902. The church was originally used for a union hall and a church by the railroad crews. It is now owned by a community trust and has been used by several denominations since then. It was a Methodist Church in the 1940's to the 1960's. The Independent Baptists rented it from the trust most recently but built their own church about 15 to 20 years ago.
