Three male youths were arrested the next day but never prosecuted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.158.207.21 (talk) 10:46, 6 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

It was noted in a blog that two male youths were flung out for mis-behaviour and set light to the building in alleged revenge.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.158.207.21 (talk) 10:48, 12 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I lived on the Island at the time, and so remember the disaster very well. I do not recall this. The official enquiry found that the fire had been started accidentally. HairyWombat (talk) 16:52, 5 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
The site www.iomfire.com says that the fire was started by some boys. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.148.70.240 (talk) 11:50, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Summerland resort page edit

Does any one think this page should be re-named "Summerland (Leisure Complex)", and have the fire information included on that page?

There is quite a lot of information available about the centre which could be included on the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ofahcuts (talkcontribs) 21:16, 3 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

The number of deaths that occurred as a result of the fire. edit

Fifty people died because of the fire in Summerland. I have just published a book about the tragedy. A memorial was placed in the Kaye Gardens in Douglas on the 40th anniversary, it bears the names of the fifty victims. Summerland Survivor (talk) 04:51, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

RCDB page about Summerland edit

https://rcdb.com/18720.htm It is definitely about the one destroyed by the fire because 1. It’s in the same place. 2. It said it temporarily closed on August 3rd, 1973, the day after the fire. This page also reveals that it had a roller coaster (https://rcdb.com/18721.htm) installed after the reopening. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Somewhereattheendofspace (talkcontribs) 23:34, 28 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
