Summer Was Named Ellen for First Six Months of Her Life

edit

According to the May 14, 1976 edition of the Milwaukee Sentinel article "Miss USA Must Go to Work Now," at the close of the last paragraph, it says that for the first six months of her infant life, her first name was Ellen (a placeholder name). The change of name to "Summer" occurred after her parents read the Steve Canyon comic books and decided to rename "Ellen" after Summer Olson (the love interest of the main character), in May 1952.

Henceforth, between November 20, 1951 and May 1952, her legal name would've been "Ellen Robin Bartholomew," in the same sense that the late musician Jimi Hendrix's original full legal name had been "Johnny Allen Hendrix" which was subsequently changed to "James Marshall Hendrix."
