Why a space suit? edit

Can anyone explain in the article what the space suit was used for? Was it to contain some of the parts of the radio? The article only mentions that the radio was mounted on the helmet. Throckmorton Guildersleeve (talk) 19:13, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
