Article title edit

In 2006, the name was changed from Sudairi Seven to Sudairi with the edit summary "no longer relevant", presumably because of Fahd had died (there no longer being 7 brothers alive). I don't actually think the death of Fahd is relevant to the article title. The title is slightly odd now - as I don't think the group are referred to as simply "Sudairi" - I think usually it becomes an adjective with nouns such as "clan", "faction" etc added on. As it is, it would suggest that this is an article about the Al Sudairi family, which it isn't. Does anyone object to it going back to Sudairi Seven or similar title? I agree that the word "Sudairi" is an adjective, not a noun. And yes, the death of Fahd is irrelevant as the article refers to the 7 brothers (dead or alive). I think the current article title should change and I don't think it matters whether it's the "Sudairi Seven", "Sudairi faction", "Sudairi brothers" or something else with similar meaning. The article itself should mention the different names they are called. - Yk3 talk · contrib 07:39, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Article title needs to be changed. This causes confusion with the article Sudair also. Mni9791 (talk) 14:18, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
My opinion is to change it to "Sudairi Seven". It is the most common widely mentioned name. I understand that they are now the "Sudairi Six". But Sudairi Seven is the group's name. The term "Sudairi faction" gives the negative connotation of a serious internal clash in the House of Saud, which very well might not be an accurate assessment. And the "Sudairi brothers", though most accurate, is not at all as widely known. Mni9791 (talk) 14:18, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
The second best option would be Al Fahd. It is quite a common term in Saudi Arabia. But in the Western world, Sudairi Seven is the most popular term. Mni9791 (talk) 14:18, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
My justification for Sudairi Seven is like the featured article Malcolm X. Though his proper name is El Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, the article uses the most common variant of his name. Use "Sudairi Seven". Mni9791 (talk) 14:18, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Per WP:COMMONNAME the name should be the most commonly used. As a very very rough idea, the number of Google hits could provide objective guidance. These are the results I got:
Google
Term Hits
Sudairi Six 314
Sudairi 6 108
Sudairi 7 3,240
Sudairi Seven 7,420
Sudairi brothers 932
Sudairi Clan 1,240
Sudairi faction 1,700
the Al Fahd 43,800
the Al Fahd + Sudairi 6,090
“The Al Fahd” includes many non-Sudairi references (Hotel chains, armoured vehicles etc) hence I searched for Al Fahd + Sudairi. Obviously all these search results include non-relevant results, but they do generally point to Sudairi 7/Seven. As this is what we all thought is the most common, I suggest we go with “Sudairi Seven”. DeCausa (talk) 15:55, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Could DeCausa or Yk move the page to 'Sudairi Seven'? I myself am not too particularly skilled with the action.Mni9791 (talk) 17:34, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done. - Yk3 talk · contrib 17:45, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

New Quality Scale Rating edit

This article needs to be rated again because it is not at all a stub-class. Mni9791 (talk) 18:06, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
