Birth date and age edit
hi i am suchitra pillai. a few things on my page are not right.i was born on august 27th 1970 which makes me 42 years old not 52! this could be detrimental for my work so pl change that.i am also now called suchitra pillai. there is no malik in my surname as i was divorced in 1998. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.134.144.172 (talk) 19:12, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for bringing up these matters on the talk page. The article is poorly sourced in general, and sourcing in particular is lacking for birth date and name. A quick Google search was not especially fruitful. Pending someone's providing a [[WP:RS|reliable source]I ], I have removed the birth date per policy. Please provide reliable sources so the correct birth date and current name can be verified. If you do that, the correct birth date can be added. Regarding name, Wikipedia usually titles its articles based on a person's best-known name. Retitling the article would require it to be moved, so I want to make absolutely sure of getting it right before undertaking that. Rivertorch (talk) 20:13, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
India does not have well kept birth/death/marriage registries. I have always known this lady as 'Suchitra Pillai', and never as 'Suchitra Pillai-Malik'. If she is divorced, and most articles seem to confirm that she is married to a Norwegian gentleman now [1] [2], who most certainly is not named ("something") Malik, I feel that it is accurate to remove the Malik from the end. In support of her assertion about the age, here is her alumni entry for graduation from high school on namesdatabase (sorry this was the best I could do.
