Merging edit
There is already an overview article about montane ecology, which contains a section that covers subalpine forest. That section, while short, has more material that this new stub. I don't think we have enough material for a separate article on a generic "subalpine forest".
Note that we do have two fleshed-out articles about geographically-specific subalpine forests: Sierra Nevada subalpine zone and Rocky Mountain subalpine zone. I attempted to write an overview at Montane ecology#Subalpine zone, but it is difficult to find material that generically covers subalpine zones. —hike395 (talk) 11:02, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
