Cropped diagram edit

There was that figure/diagram/illustration of the Styli, it had some text (and a fig number) that was quoted right below it, so I removed that as it was unnessessary. The original is

Etymology edit

Regarding the etymology, Latin stilus (changed by medieval scholars to stylus, falsely thinking it was the same word as stylus "pole", borrowed from Greek) is of Etruscan origin, unrelated to Greek stylos. See http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/stylus

Suggest an article split edit

I think the stylus pen for computing should be a separate article. Other computer articles need a quick and clear definition of a stylus pen, as used in computing. If nobody objects, I'll go ahead and do it. --Lester 06:56, 2 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm just saying I think that there should probably be a seperate article too, because it doesn't make sense here and you need to get to the computing section quicker - go ahead and change it. Woofy (talk) 20:43, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

add a section on how it works edit

People would wonder how this stylus works. There should be a section on how the stylus writes on a screen, for example. Does it work like a Smartboard? I think this explanation is very important for the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Woofy13457 (talkcontribs) 20:39, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Possible Inaccuracies edit

In the Stylus (computing) part, there is this statement "Many new phones have a built-in stylus which tucks in behind the back cover. Some styluses may extend and contract into small, pen-like cylinders, which are easy to put away." This is wildly inaccurate. The only phone that regularly come with stylus is Galaxy Note series, and other stylus need to be purchase separately, and no dedicated space directly in the phones, the "built-in" part is definitely inaccurate. 180.241.75.170 (talk) 05:05, 26 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
