Hello fellow Wikipedians, I have just added archive links to 5 external links on Studio One (Dubai One series). Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. The result of the move request was: move the page to Studio One (UAE talk show), per the discussion below. Studio One (Dubai TV series) has been created as a redirect. Dekimasuよ! 02:40, 9 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Studio One (TV show)Studio One (Dubai TV series) – The form "(Dubai TV series)" would be analogous to "(U.S. TV series)", used in Studio One (U.S. TV series), which would be otherwise structured as simply Studio One (TV series). —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 00:55, 23 February 2018 (UTC)--Relisting.  samee  talk 06:10, 2 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

It should be noted that in addition to being a city, Dubai is also a semi-independent political entity known as an emirate, which also means "principality", with all the trappings of a sovereign state in regard to domestic matters, including media. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 09:09, 23 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Moved. CONSISTENCY policy rationales below pitted against the RECOGNIZABLE policy argument – tough call; however, since the "E" in UAE is for "Emirates", which is closely similar to "Emirati", the supporters have shown a stronger reason to use the latter as a better title qualifier. Studio One (UAE TV program)Studio One (Emirati TV program) – Per WP:NCTV we use the list at List of adjectival and demonymic forms for countries and nations as the guideline for the correct country adjectivals, both to keep a common standard and also to minimize WP:OR. For United Arab Emirates, the options listed are "Emirati", "Emirian" and "Emiri" - with no option for "UAE". In addition to that, Emiratis is the article for the name of the people, with Emirati as the singular form. The relevant television categories (and others as well) are named in the style of Category:Emirati television series. Other Wikipedia stats when searching:

  1. Searching for: intitle:"(UAE " - gives 1 result, this.
  2. Searching for: intitle:"(Emirati " - gives 15 results (example articles: Mohammad Iqbal (Emirati cricketer), Ahmed Raza (Emirati cricketer), Al-Ittihad (Emirati newspaper)).
  3. Searching for: intitle:"(Emirian " - gives no results.
  4. Searching for: intitle:"(Emiri " - gives no results.

From the above data, I see no reason to create a unique naming style instead of staying with the one already established and supported by the relevant country list (WP:CONSISTENCY). • Speaking as someone with little to no knowledge of the UAE, I would definitely understand "(UAE TV series)" faster than "(Emirati TV series)"... and "UAE" is more consistent with "UK" and "U.S.", as mentioned above. So I guess the question becomes "is '(UAE TV series)' liable to be more confusing for more people?" If "UAE TV series" is going to be widely understood, then per WP:COMMONALITY it seems like the best choice. If not, then perhaps "Emirati" is the way to go. —Joeyconnick (talk) 22:41, 16 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
