Where exactly is Lake Garland located?

The story of Lake Garland

Lake Garland is a fictional lake that appeared in the 2005 movie Stuart Little 3: Call of the Wild. Lake Garland is located in Upstate New York. Stuart Little and his family (his parents, his brother George, and his baby sister Martha) went to Lake Garland for their summer vacation because they rented a cabin there. Lake Garland is known for its scouting program, the Lake Scouts, which is open to both boys and girls. Stuart and his brother George decide to join the Lake Scouts. The Lake Scouts are led by Troopmaster Bickle. Lake Garland is located near a forest where many animals live, including Stuart’s new friend, Reeko the Skunk, and an evil beast who kidnaps Snowbell the Cat. Stuart’s father was also a Lake Scout when he was a child in the 1960s, which inspired Stuart and George to join the Lake Scouts. George develops a crush on a female Scout named Brooke. Stuart invited Reeko to visit his family's cabin and have dinner with his family. After leaving the cabin, Reeko went back to the forest. There is a city located near the lake called Garland City. Troopmaster Bickle’s house is in Garland City. Brooke's house is also in Garland City. There is at least one hardware store in Garland City, as Stuart's parents went to the hardware store to get tools and supplies for renovating their rundown cabin. Stuart and his siblings stayed in the cabin with Snowbell and Monty while their parents went to the hardware store.

Because of his small size, Stuart had to sleep in an old sock every night of his family's vacation, while George slept in a regular bed. This is unlike their sleeping arrangement in Stuart Little 2, where they shared a bunk bed. The old sock also had to be placed on top of a windowsill, because his family members would step on him if he slept anywhere else. Stuart also had to use a candle as a night light because of the cabin's rural location. After waking up every morning and getting out of the old sock he used as a bed, Stuart blew out the candle so as not to waste energy. He turned on the light switch in his room so he could see, and he had breakfast with his family every morning (Stuart and George usually had cereal and milk, while their parents had eggs, bacon, toast and coffee). Stuart eventually leaves his family’s cabin to rescue Snowbell from a mysterious beast.

Sequel

For some reasons, earlier versions of this article didn’t mention that this movie was a sequel to Stuart Little 2. It is actually a stand-alone sequel because the events of Stuart Little 2 (the soccer team, Margalo the bird, the evil falcon, etc.) weren’t even mentioned in Stuart Little 3.
