Copied from Talk:Stuart cloete, somehow my move didn't catch this! Inner Earth 21:37, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

For a novelist of his stature, there is scant information out there. Possibly it is because his novels have become unfashionable, as, although for their time quite liberal (indeed controversial), hes used kaffir and other now offensive terms, etc. (POV). I have tried to summarise what little there is as best as possible. This is the first article I have attempted to write for the Wikipedia... and it is a work in progress. Others' contributions are welcomed wholeheartily (this is a wiki.) I am aware that much of the wording, formatting (particularly the formatting) etc. is poor. Also, I am aware much of the content requires better sourcing. Finally, I am aware that there are mistakes (ommissions and misclassificatios) in the list of works by the author. I could not find a definitive list on the internet, (will need to consult a paper library) but managed to compile this list from worldcat. I (or my mother, at least) only have copies, as far as I know, of 4 of his novels, and one of his short story collections. Unfortunately, and bizarrely, none of these have "also by" lists. Postscript: I don't know if this can be classed as a stub or not. There is quite a lot, although it is quite higgledy-piggledy and insubstantial. I personally say yes (which is why I tagged it as such,) but feel there is a need to highlight this article as a long stub. It will probably be pruned by subsequent edits, at least at first, though. (Feedback, please, especially my South African brothers.) Garble 21:31, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Bibliography edit

I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates for books and articles, as well as tables for organising short stories, poems and/or book reviews. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. This is a work in progress; feel free to continue.
