More specific title? edit

Boccherini wrote dozens of string quintets, several of them in E major. We should consider renaming the article to a more specific name. Maybe String Quintet, Op. 11, No. 5 (Boccherini) or String Quintet, G275 (Boccherini). Not crazy about either of those, but getting the ball rolling. I do suspect that this will be the only article for a single Boccherini quintet though. If any of the others get articles, it will likely be for full sets (i.e. Op. 11, etc).DavidRF (talk) 18:20, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have a good point. However, I do think that the title should indicate that the piece is in E Major. Somebody looking for this article would more likely put "E Major" in the search box than "Op. 11". Maybe something like String Quintet in E, Op. 11 (Boccherini) or String Quintet in E, Op. 11, No. 5 (Boccherini). Ems24 (talk) 00:26, 7 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Other movements? edit

Does anyone have descriptions of the 1st, 2nd, and 4th movements? Almost every source I can find talks only about the minuet. —EMS24 16:08, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Explanation edit

To DavidRF ... just wanted to explain that in the US, the film "The Time of Their Lives" is far more popular and broadcast more often than the movie "The Ladykillers." As far as I can recollect, this piece was made famous by that movie, and probably used in "Ladykillers" because of its use in "The Time of Their Lives." Here in the US, it is still used, to this day, to depict late 18th century society, most especially during the Revolutionary War. —(Pookerella) 06:15, 13 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Op. 11 or Op. 13 edit

The title refers to the work as Op. 11, the text as Op. 13. In fact, the text was changed in the course of history, from 11 to 13. Which one is right? Discogs refers to Op. 13, Allmusic to Op. 11. I love the quintet; I think the title (by redirection) and the text (by editing) of the article should be aligned, but I am not enough of a music history expert. Minuet edit

The article currently states that the minuet movement is in E Major modulating to A Major, but the excerpt shown (which is from the beginning of the movement) is in A Major. 50.68.40.160 (talk) 05:05, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Nevermind, I looked up a score and the keys given were just incorrect (the movement starts in A Major and modulates to D Major in the Trio), so I corrected it. 50.68.40.160 (talk) 05:11, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
