Examples

Just wanted to say that the Examples section is worlds better than it was 2008. Good job, everyone! The Jade Knight (talk) 05:05, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

Straw man in the straw man

I'm not sure if this was by design but ironically, the section on Nixon/Eisenhower poses the argument that Nixon's use of the straw man (Checkers the dog) made him win by a landslide. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Steynstrauss (talkcontribs) 20:33, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

I fixed it to remove the puffery.Persistent Corvid (talk) 19:13, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

Effort to add in a "famous interview"

There is an effort to add in a new contemporary example of an interview between Jordan Peterson and Cathy Newman. First of all the way it is written does not present a neutral point of view. Other issues with it. One of the sources is to "www.dailytoreador.com" this particular reference is a student newspaper, it is also an opinion piece so there is no editorial oversite, therefore it fails Reliable Source. The source for The Atlantic is also an opinion piece, that never once mentions these attacks as strawman attacks (WP:OR). I do not see that this addition adds anything to the article. --VVikingTalkEdits 15:16, 19 May 2022 (UTC)

I have reverted the addition. Undue length, quite apart from the sourcing problems. Philip Cross (talk) 15:37, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
