Hi,

I edited out the reference "Harrison JC, George QF, Cronk CC. Stereotypic behaviour in zoo animals. J Zoo Sc. 2001;1(23):71-86." because to the best of my, and about a half dozen other STEM field academic librarians, it does not exist. The article is not indexed in WorldCat or any subscription database. The authors have no other works. There is no abstract of this article anywhere. Colleague at the San Diego Zoo has suggested that this article is mislabeled, but the information is correct. Correct citation suggested is: Bashaw MJ, Tarou LR, Maki TS, Maple TL. 2001. Hi Ibmakron. I am the editor who reverted your deletion. That might have been rather a knee-jerk reaction on my part for which I apologise. The content looks accurate (I have worked with zoo animals), although I have reservations about the stated motivation for this (i.e redirected suckling). I also have been unable to track down that article despite 30 mins or so of searching. I suggest I/we re-write that sentence using the Bashaw reference (and there are others relating to giraffes. DrChrissy - no worries. I, and colleague at San Diego Zoo, also did not see anything referring to suckling in the article. I'm a science librarian with a biochemistry background and beyond correcting a faulty citation I should not be an author for this article. I invite you to rewrite the sentence using your best judgementIbmakron (talk) 22:05, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
