Degree

edit

If he is a retired surgeon, then he's a Medical Doctor (MD). It is incorrect to say he earned his "doctorate," a term reserved for the degree eared by a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The two are distinct types of degrees.

Original research

edit

While I casually agree with it, I just removed a large chunk of criticism from the article. On Wikipedia, we don't inject our personal opinions as criticism into articles, we find reliable sources where that criticism is expressed and incorporate that into the article, with proper citations. Since there was no source cited, it looked like a random opinion, violating our no original research policy. This is basic policy and should never be violated.
