Named after Slovak grandfather with Polish nickname

edit

His namesake paternal grandfather was a first generation son of immigrants from present day Slovakia. His paternal grandmother, Jane Rose nee Chojnacka, was a first generation daughter of immigrants from Poland and that is probably why his grandfather, Stephen John, has a Polish nickname. Also, the Slovak ancestral villages of his great-grandparents are located in the northern Spiš region near the border of Slovakia and Poland. Svondrak (talk) 20:42, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
