The alias survived the person? edit

According to Imdb.com (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0707804/) Stephen Gilbert was the screenwriter Gilbert Ralston's pen name. Ralston wrote the script for "Willard" and "Ben", based on Ratman's Notebook. How is it possible then that Gilbert was still alive in 2010 when Ralston died in 1999? The have the same year and town of birth here, so there must be an error somewhere. -- 95.90.34.31 (talk) 14:37, 1 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Gilbert Ralston was a different person. He wrote the screenplay for the film, but the book was written by Stephen Gilbert who was born in 1912 and died in 2010. At some point someone has made the incorrect assumption that the two were the same person and have applied the birth information of Stephen Gilbert to Gilbert Ralston. I do not have any source for information about Gilbert Ralston's birth, so I cannot guarantee that he was not born at the same time and same place as Stephen Gilbert, but it seems somewhat unlikely. - MF 4/9/11
