Newcastle Season 07/08

edit

"Many Newcastle United fans give Carr the blame for some costly defeats, and rightly so, particularly against Bolton Wanderers on October 15 2006.[citation needed] Typically poor defending from the Irish wingback led to Bolton's two goals and allowed Bolton to win the game 2-1."

I removed the following from Stephen Carr's profile. Carr has not had the greatest of seasons, however he's not solely to blame for Newcastle's poor season. Also, I wouldn't regard him as a "typically poor" defender. There's a reason why he's been a Premier League player for his career.

removed trivia as it is really unnecessary and we should not be listing who is who's number what signing.

He was Sir Bobby Robson's penultimate signing at Newcastle. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xaiver0510 (talkcontribs) 10:25, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

released from Newcastle

edit

I hope I haven't stood on any toes in updating this page to reflect that he has been released from Newcastle as of today. I saw that when I came back to edit in a reference that someone had beaten by to it - thanks. I've also updated the bottom section to reflect that he is an ex-newcastle player. Are you CERTAIN that he has been released as of today. The BBC reports "The contracts of the trio run out this summer and Magpies manager Kevin Keegan has confirmed that they will not be offered new deals." That means he remains under contract until 30th June. Kevin McE (talk) 21:42, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
