Fair use rationale for Image:Stefan Milenkovic Concert Poster 2000.jpg edit

Image:Stefan Milenkovic Concert Poster 2000.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Contested deletion edit

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (This is the most correct information about the artist and he himself has given direct permission to be published on wikipedia. Please do not delete the article.) --73.211.100.61 (talk) 13:06, 2 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

It won't be speedily deleted but I've listed it at Wikipedia:Copyright problems as an administrator has to verify that permission has been given. There's information about how to resolve this on your talk page and the template I've put on the article. Peter James (talk) 13:22, 2 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much for the explanation! I've just sent an email as you suggested to the Wikimedia Foundation for the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License and GNU Free Documentation License. Hopefully this will do, otherwise I'm here to make corrections further if needed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:241:8103:8A59:E5F8:C6D:9DF9:6A7F (talk) 15:45, 2 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Peter James: I want to work on this article. (And I just made a couple of edits, as a start.) I see a lot of discussion here and via the "View history" tab in the article. Some of this discussion gets into issues that I don't know anything about (yet). Meanwhile, does it make sense for me to simply start editing the article? Thanks CWBoast (talk) 00:59, 6 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
P.S. I don't intend to use direct quotes from Milenkovic-website materials, etc., in my editing, whether these have somehow been approved for such use or not. Thanks CWBoast (talk) 01:03, 6 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
The discussion seems to have started because text was copied from his website. The copyright problem was resolved but the added text was still removed - the relevant policy seems to be Wikipedia:Verifiability#Self-published or questionable sources as sources on themselves. If sources are reliable and independent of the subject, this won't be a problem. Peter James (talk) 22:31, 13 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
