Notability

edit

Hello Bobtinin and CommonSentiments, would you mind presenting the WP:THREESOURCES you believe best demonstrate that Stavros Halkias passes WP:BIO? As of right now I don't believe any of the current references contribute to notability (relevant policies and essays include WP:SOCIALMEDIA, WP:INTERVIEW, and WP:RSP/WP:ELP). Undid this edit due to the section being poorly sourced and likely Ill-intentioned Flyabynyt (talk) 19:37, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Controversy section & BLP guidelines

edit

Through June 2022, the Controversy section has been wrapped up in edit warring between fans and critics of Halkias with general disregard to WP:NEUTRAL/IMPARTIAL and WP:OR (no original research). In particular, some editors are engaging in WP:COATRACK, using this article to levy general criticisms of the dirtbag left.

Due to sloppy editing (particularly the use of bare URLs/poorly formatted citations, reversions with subjective reasonings, etc.), it is fair to say that some editors of this page are carelessly editing a BLP. This may be due to the work of newer editors (welcome!) but a worst case scenario would suggest bad faith editing of a WP:BLP (this can also be gathered by the recent page protection due to disruptive edits).

I urge editors to more considerately edit this article, refer to WP:BLP, and cease edit warring, rather, discussing controversy here on the talk page. ~ CommonSentiments (talk) 23:30, 30 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

As an aside, I personally find it very disheartening that user Eritrean Camel claimed that I am "running damage control for Stavros at the behest of some third party" in the article revision history for trying to align this section with BLP guidelines; I garnered additional criticism from this user for adding a Main template in this section linking to the Reception section of the podcast Cum Town which details the criticism included here in more thorough and balanced detail. This was removed for some reason despite providing access to a more detailed description of controversy. ~ CommonSentiments (talk) 23:35, 30 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
It was almost all WP:OR and I've removed it. I assume this article will suffer from WP:BLP/lack of mature adult editors problems in the future, so a good one to keep on the watchlist. Brycehughes (talk) 12:06, 5 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Body positive activist and model

edit

Hi Tattatootoo, could you please provide me with a timestamp in that podcast where Halkias is referred to as a body positive activist and/or model? The other source appears to be a photo shoot of men under the theme of body positivity, but does not refer to Halkias as a body positivity activist and model, unless there is an introductory article for the slideshow that I'm missing (in which case could you link me that?). If we can't verify that Halkias has been referred to as a body positivity activist and model in reliable, secondary sources, then we should remove this claim per WP:BLP. Thanks, Brycehughes (talk) 17:43, 5 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Full protection

edit

Edit warring on this page has continued even after it was semi-protected. I considered simply blocking the accounts involved, but since there are quite a few of them, I'm applying full protection for a couple of weeks. All users who have been involved in removing and/or reinstating blocks of text here, please discuss your disagreements here, bearing in mind the guidance at WP:RS and WP:BLP. Thank you. For what it's worth (assuming we're moving the discussion down here from Controversy section & BLP guidelines above), I have no problem with there being a "Controversy" section; it just needs to be well sourced rather than an editor's own commentary on primary-source YouTube videos along with an obscure blog post. If Halkias really is such a shock comic, then the wait might not be so long for reliable sources to appear. Brycehughes (talk) 18:29, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
