Talk:Stauromedusae

If stauromedusae should now be reclassified as its own class of Staurozoa of the phylum Cnidaria, according to "recent evidence," then it should be put there, in accordance with the article of Cnidaria, which does indeed list Staurozoa as its own class. And the title of this article should also be changed to Staurozoa. I invite anyone who has specific knowledge on this subject to make this change. But I myself am just learning about this, so I could be wrong.217.194.139.131 21:17, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Beezer137Reply

If PhyloCode is ever adopted, changing the name of an established clade solely based on updating its Linnaean rank would be disallowed. However, Taxonomicon lists the old order Stauromedusae inside the newly-formed class Staurozoa (M. & C. 2004); and, since Staurozoa also includes an extinct order not in Stauromedusae, the two names wouldn't be synonymous. The appropriate action would seem to be to simply change this article's taxobox from "Class: Scyphozoa" to "Class: Staurozoa". --DWIII 07:50, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Although less known, I think its quality can be better. Enlil Ninlil (talk) 07:11, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
