Two Stauntons

We need to decide how the name two entries for the two villages called Staunton, both in the Forest of Dean district council and Gloucestershire. On the district council website the two names are "STAUNTON (Coleford)" and "STAUNTON (Glos.)". Iccaldwell (talk) 12:12, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Most of the text came from a separate page which was created at [[Staunton, near Coleford]] by User:Browngoat - who has not contributed elsewhere and didn't respond to my message on his/her talk page. When I merged it with this page to avoid duplication, I didn't check whether it came from a community website or was the editor's own text. Feel free to polish away! Having cited a few references I must check out one - the reference of the estimated weight, 14,000 tons looks excessive. I have checked out two independent sources, the original and one that cites a range from 4,000 tons to 14,000. I havent been there on foot for over 5 yrs so worth a visit. If you assume one ton in weight per cubic metre of rock I guess it weighs in excess of 1400 tons (based on pacing it out on the ground and estimating its height at all faces during a recent visit). I defer to any experts on this if any have anything to add before I amend the 14,000 to 1400. BTW thats the weight of 22 Challenger 2 tanks. Jeremy Bolwell (talk) 16:23, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Teddy Bears' Picnic

The paragraph on this song seems to have been added by an anonymous IP and is unsourced. Furthermore the section claims that the lyrics supposedly refer to words spoken to John W. Bratton by the lady he was seeing - this is very odd since the article Teddy Bears' Picnic says that Bratton never wrote lyrics for the tune and those associated with it were written by Jimmy Kennedy.
