... that despite a law against public statues of Francisco Franco, there is one in Melilla because it depicts him before the Spanish Civil War? Source: La Vanguardia: "Según el Gobierno de la comunidad, es un homenaje a su etapa africanista como Comandante de la Legión de Melilla y "no a su condición de dictador" - "According to the Government of the community, it is an homage to his spell in the African War [known in English as the Rif War ] as Commander of the Legion of Melilla and "not on his condition as dictator"

Comment: As I put in my edit summary for this article, I am aware that this title has a "disambiguation" which it looks like it doesn't need. However, as a fascist dictator, Franco had many statues, and I intend to write about some of the others soon. This isn't the most famous of them, just the last one in public.
