Is "Greenland" a state?

I am suspicious of having Greenland classified as a state. According to the article, it is a "self-governed Danish territory". Instead, I would call Greenland a statoid rather than a state. (In this case, Avannaa would not be a statoid.)

Potential dubious article

Search in some search engines suggest one person has "created" this term, and usage is limited, and presence of the word in a small number of sites found by the search engine, suggest that this could all be a dubious item, a bit like 'factoid' which is in no way related in meaning.
