Removed instances of obvious subjective language in the online play section. This entire section could use an objective writeup which would accurately detail the lifetime, playerbase, and game modes of online play.

Online Gameplay

I have added two paragraphs focusing around the terrific speed and flexibility of gameplay. This is what truly distinguished JK from other shooters at the time, and even from others today. The text, I believe, is not so subjective as to be an opinion, but is rather the objective recollection of an old gamer. (I played for around 5 years, so I did see the best as they fought.)

I have resisted mentioning anything to do with players on the MSN Gaming Zone as I do not think it would be illuminating.

Perhaps a section to do with the force powers, both as they are advertised and as they were actually used online, would be useful. If anyone is inclined to help, I think there should be more discussion of how the game was actually played, which is surely online. AWBridges 18:28, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Restructuring

I've restructured much of the article, moving Online Play into Gameplay, but differentiating it. I've also moved many of my earlier additions about JK's gameplay into another subset of Gameplay, where I think they most properly belong. I addition, I've added a section on both Force Powers and Weapons. I encourage editing of the language around these sections, though I imagine brief descriptions are best. - AWBridges 08:07, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Also, let's get some more pictures! Does anyone still have the game? Could they get screenshots of some interesting things? - AWBridges 08:07, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Much appreciated! Though, try to keep lists to a minimum and convert anything worthwhile into prose if possible. As for screenshots, select something that illustrates relevant points within the text. Combination 13:45, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Good point on the lists. I'll add more prose to the Force Powers and Weapons sections, around the tabulation. - AWBridges 16:45, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Some screenshots could be found on the following site: http://jedi.majerco.net/jedi-knight/mapy/ but these are mostly shots of secret locations, also note a link called 'screenshoty' in the left lower menu. I have the game so if you'll write to the guestbook of that website (http://jedi.majerco.net/kniha-navstev/) what shots you would like to have, I could try to take them. Darth Vader does appear in the reissue of the game

There is an Easter Egg in the Bundled version of the game that does feature Darth Vader, that is, a map that can be unlocked where the character plays Luke Skywalker on Bespin and can fight his way to a showdown against Vader in the Carbon Freeze chamber leading to the leap from the gantry (where he is caught by the Millenium Falcon and the mission ends). It's not a mission within the story of the game itself, but it is included on the original disk. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.58.73.159 (talk) 23:34, 19 December 2006 (UTC).

This isn't actually the case. The game does feature this level, but Darth Vader isn't in it. The level instead features evil versions of Mara Jade and Kyle Katarn. Someone within the MOTS community did write a mod of the level that replaced these characters with Darth Vader, but this was NOT included on the disc. For this reason, I've removed the comment about Vader appearing in the reissue. - 84.92.92.242 20:01, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Max-Pump.jpg

Image:Max-Pump.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Cutscenes

From current revision: "The cut scenes filmed for the sequences between levels are the first Star Wars video filmed since Return of the Jedi in 1983.[1]" That was Rebel Assault II, not JK. What the linked article actually says is that "it was the first time new Lightsaber footage had been filmed since Return of the Jedi", and I don't know whether that's true or not. --DocumentN (talk) 18:47, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

I've corrected the info against the source. I'm pretty sure it is true as I remember it being discussed a lot around the time of release. I can't think of any Star Wars game that has actual lightsabre footage before JK. Bill (talk|contribs) 19:36, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Kyle Katarn in Mysteries of the Sith

I wonder why Kyle is dressed black in Mysteries of the Sith. Volkov talk 11:39, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

OEM s

Should the two OEMs be mentioned? Pathways to the Force & Ambush at Altyr 5. They are demos, but they did get their own titles. --Refuteku (talk) 19:16, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Article title

Shouldn't the article title be Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II? SharkD (talk) 02:33, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

The current title is how LucasArts writes it on their website, so that looks like the "official" style. Bill (talk|contribs) 09:31, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Multiplayer characters

I wonder why this game contains multiplayer characters such as Krugon, Veamon, Rugar, Santiago and Mandalor/Boba Fett although they don't appear in the Singleplayer mode of this game. Does anyone know where these characters come from? Big King (talk) 16:53, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Not really sure, although I know that Katarn is meant to have some history with Fett. Maybe these were ditched NPCs? --PenguinCopter (talk) 23:38, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Canonical date

The sentence "The story is set one year after the events in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)." is confusing. First time I read it it seemed to suggest Kyle katarn was shooting baddies in a game set in the early eighties. Although this sounds like fun, clarification is needed. Should the (1983) be removed, or should the sentcence be re-arranged? --PenguinCopter (talk) 23:41, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
