Production costs

edit

Does anyone know how much money went into making this? I am very curious, even an approximation would be nice. 80.141.211.91 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:32, 22 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

This GameFAQs thread explains why it's nearly impossible to figure out production costs for certain games: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/146575-star-ocean-integrity-and-faithlessness/73919553

Manga

edit

Shouldn't there also be a small description on the manga version of Star Ocean. It was seven volumes long and ran from 2003 to 2006. Since you have information for SO2's manga, why not for this game's? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.166.141.115 (talk) 08:18, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Religous References

edit

What is with the angels references in the third Star Ocean story? Is there a link to the first release of Star Ocean's Ten wise men/angels, Fayt Leingod, and The Executioners (particularly, The Proclaimer)?

Also, Fayt Leingod, "Faith (or Fate) Lies in God". What is the religous undertone meaning of the whole series?

There are no religious undertones. Fayt's name has no specific meaning. The developers said this in an interview so I can't understand why people keep trying to take a meaning onto his name. And they use biblical references because they think it's cool. This wouldn't be the first series to do it.--Claude 01:17, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
The authority of the author is not the end-all-be-all in the interpretation of any fictional work. - aliasworkshop.
Except when, ya know, is IS. If the people that made the characters and world say that it isn't, then it isn't. Simple.--Claude 20:51, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Character articles.

edit

Would there be any objection to listification of the various character articles? The Peppita article was prodded recently due to low quality, and having a list might aid things slightly to keep quality consistent. Plus, there just isn't a lot to say about some of the chararacters outside their plot.

I see two options if we decide to go with a list. First, we could simply listify 'em all. Another option would be to have articles for the major ones, and keep the rest in a list. If we did this, Fayt, Sophia, Cliff, Nel, Maria, and perhaps Albel all have major speaking parts and would keep their article. (Albel?), Roger, Peppita, Mirage, Adray, Claire, Ameena, Luther, and other NPCs would probably be moved to the list (and the article might be "List of minor Star Ocean: Till the End of Time characters").

I understand that the software is better on redirects now, so redirects to the list could have the "Star Ocean character" category, I believe. SnowFire 19:20, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Actually we would summarize all characters and put them in a list. I believe Fayt would be the only one who would have his summary a little longer than the others....A character description is just like another Plot. We just remove the summary and add a list and explain the background.Bread Ninja (talk) 18:47, 27 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please examine the date on the above post and look in the article history before you say silly things. Originally each character had an article. I merged them into a list. TTN, an editor on a crusade to remove all fictional content, redirected the list article back here, despite the fact that I'm fairly sure independent notability exists, just not easily accessible in English. If you want to revive the article, it's in the history of List of characters in Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, but I'd recommend digging up more sources first as it's currently only borderline in the notability it can show at the moment. SnowFire (talk) 21:45, 27 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please pay attention to what i'm saying. I said we should make a list not a separate article with a list. The character summary is much more 'setting' than summary. ALso it's not 'silly'. Again i recommend we make a list in the main article. Characters that dont have enough nobility should not be mentioned at all.Bread Ninja (talk) 16:21, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

First of all, as a note, you shouldn't remove people's contributions from the talk page just because you disagree with them. This is considered extremely bad form unless the comment is a personal attack or trolling. The Konami code thing was really irrelevant, so whatever, but the plot summary comment was a legitimate remark from an IP.
Secondly... I disagree about making the characters into a list. Prose is generally preferred over lists when possible on Wikipedia. Don't get me wrong, bulleted lists are appropriate in some circumstances, but the ideal article should be, well, an article. I'd propose that a list makes more sense when there isn't much to say about individual characters, and each bullet can be "punchy" and short. That isn't entirely true here, and moreover a lot of information is relevant to multiple characters. Cliff & Maria can be talked about at the same time, same with Fayt & Sophia, etc. That said I'll give the section another look.

ok how about this we split the characters section into three paragraphs each one being a paragraph of the characters of each planet and/or ship. also i didn't delete someones contribution because i didnt agree. i deleted it because it was meaningless, had nothing to do with the article itself.Bread Ninja (talk) 17:04, 16 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Characters

edit

I feel that with the characters summaries should be seperated and also add their weapon of choice into the summaries. If anyone disagrees, please notify me via my talk page or here. Thanks. castlevaniamaster1 12:42, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Weapon of choice should not be mentioned, again a list in the main article is much easier, the way the character is set up makes the section sound more of a plot setting than a character description.Bread Ninja (talk) 18:22, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Plot summary

edit

The plot summary is a completely reasonable length. It's a two-disc story driven RPG. If anything, it deserves a larger section for the plot. That tag thing claiming "The plot summary in this section is too long or detailed compared to the rest of the article." is exactly what is wrong with Wikipedia. The plot summary is easily the most useful piece of information on this page and the only real thing you wouldn't be able to find outside of Wikipedia.

Stop ruining the internet and get rid of the template tag thing. I don't care if the ridiculous wikipedia manual bull says it shouldn't have that. It might not be typically encyclopedic, but it entirely fulfills the PURPOSE of an encyclopedia. It's useful original information that was the kind of thing that made Wikipedia good and successful. Whereas now it's a mishmash of semi-facts from random websites like Gamespot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.29.23.228 (talk) 11:34, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cover Art

edit

One thing has stumped me: Why there are two different cover arts for the US release. There's a purple version that has only text and the symbol on it, then there's a blue version that has two characters on it. Anyone know the difference? Darktangent (talk) 18:32, 17 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

One's the covering for the box as a whole, the other's the case for the game. SnowFire (talk) 20:16, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
