The Bishop of Knaresborough
editDoes anyone know which Bishop of Knaresborough it was who made the famous remark about Jackson's memorial service? It's been tagged with a request for clarification. It seems highly likely that it was John Bateman-Champain. Not only are his dates right, but in his youth he had been a first-class cricketer. But I can't be certain.
