World record edit
Well, more properly best performance, as the IAAF does not recognize the event. Arne Tvervåg of Norway jumped 3.71 m (12 ft 2 in) on November 11, 1968 in Noresund, Norway. See "Lengde u/tilløp" on this Norwegian athletics records page. The women's record is 2.92 m (9 ft 7 in) set by Annelin Mannes of Norway on Marc 7, 1981 in Flisa, Norway. New unofficial world record? edit
Apprently, someone called Darius Clark who jumped 3.96 metres and beat the old unofficial standing long jump world record by 0.23 metres.
