"Stuck in a Box" and "Stand Up" edit

Rather than continuing this edit war, I will discuss my points.

  • "Stuck in a Box" doesn't really warrant its own section, and can easily be incorporated into the main 'Singles' table. It works well in Lady Gaga discography, a featured list, who has also featured in only one single.
  • "Stand Up" is a single. It is purchasable at the iTunes Store as a single. Even if this weren't the case, what would it be? It is not a filler on any album. Adabow (talk · contribs) 07:51, 11 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

It seems you want this discography to look like Gaga's. Lady Gaga has released more songs than Stan thats why it works well. As you can see above the singles table, it says 'lead artist' so Stan's songs only. He is a featured artist on Stuck in a Box and I believe there should be a table for it for featured artists only. It doesn't matter if its just one song. Theres no rule saying its not allowed. You had no problems with it before so why now? And its good to keep the page looking long because look what happened to the Jessica Mauboy discography because of what you started. People want to merge the article into the main article because they reckon its too short to have its own article.

Stand Up may be a single but it never charted and it wasn't intended to. It was released for that All Whites campaign, it wasn't an official release from an album like the other singles so I believe it stay in the other songs table with Purple Rain. Again you had no problems with this so why now? ozurbanmusic (talk) 08:20, 11 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK, I am willing to let the featured artist issue go. To be honest, I don't think this really deserves its own page, but as Stan Walker is quite short, the article would look unbalanced.
If you are accepting that "Stand Up" is a single, then why not include it in the singles table? A single does not need to chart to be included, it is still a single. Lets look at Beyoncé Knowles discography, a singer whose articles you are involved in. In 'as featured artist' "Amor Gitano" has not charted at all, yet it is under the singles header. The same can be said for her latest two promo singles, and two of her video albums. They are still included. I don't see how not charting makes it less of a single. I still think that "Stand Up" should be in the 'Other songs' table. Yes its a single, but not a single that was released as the first, second or third off Stan's album, or a single that was intended to chart on both the ARIA or RIANZ charts. It was released only for the 'All Whites Campaign', so thats why it should be in the "Other songs" section with "Purple Rain". And that "Amor Gitano" song charted in European coutries. It doesn't show that on the table because the countries that it charted in aren't the main countries that should be mentioned on the table. ozurbanmusic (talk) 06:29, 12 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

It is irrelevant whether the single is taken from an album, or whether it charts. To say that it was not intended to chart is simply OR. A single is a single is a single. Therefore, "Stand Up" logically belongs in the 'Singles' section. Adabow (talk · contribs) 05:05, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Is there a rule saying it has to be under the singles table? If you show me proof, then I'll accept it. If no proof, then just leave it as it is. Theres nothing wrong with it being in the 'Other songs' table. ozurbanmusic (talk) 05:34, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

There is something wrong with it being there: it is a single. Adabow (talk · contribs) 05:45, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Just because its a single, don't mean it has to be in that specific table. The whole section is about singles. ozurbanmusic (talk) 06:24, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well it shouldn't be. It should be like this, as used in most FLs, (eg Kesha discography, Lady Gaga discography and Taylor Swift discography):

Well Stan's discography is not an FL, I'm tired of this, I might as well just add it in the table. ozurbanmusic (talk) 11:04, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Featured content sets the precedent for style on WP. And, obviously, FL is the goal. Adabow (talk · contribs) 05:57, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
