Name stadium

Where did you find that story about the stadium name? This is nonsense... the jury who gave that name to the stadium never talked about that... They said "That stadium that all France was waiting for a long time will be called Stade de France". Clio64B 15:15, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Lack of Quality information about the stadium

If you compare this artical with other stadium articles its of a very poor level (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wembley_Stadium) Stade de France is a very interesting stadium. I was lucky enough to tour it recently and pick up a number of interesting facts such as, it has a fully suspended roof (http://www.iabse.ethz.ch/association/awards/ostrac/stadefra.php), which amoung other things lets the grass recieve more natural light. Its Two screens at either sides of the pitch are the size of a tennis court. It has a ring road instide and 4 entrances that let it change from full concert mode to play pitch in less then 48hrs.

The DVD is named "Stade de France", it is documented in the article N°5 on Tour ; it is a diamond status DVD - this is a sales rating, meaning it sold over 100,000 copies.

If you were to search on the title of the DVD there is no information whatsoever on where to look from this page.

This is a hatnote, and it should exist, or do we not want people finding the articles they want?

The article you are attempting to differentiate from the Stade de France is not referring to "the film of the concert, entitled Mylène Farmer au Stade de France" (essentially the DVD), but to N°5 on Tour, the double live album that has nothing to do with the stadium other than the fact that some of it was performed there. It doesn't matter if the DVD is called Stade de France or not. The the article itself pertains to the double live album. The DVD is only a subsection of the article and doesn't warrant being differentiate from the Stade de France because N°5 on Tour, the double live album, which the article is actually discussing doesn't have anything to do with the stadium. It would be like posting

The DVD in that case is not named "Red Rocks Amphitheatre", as you state yourself, so your analogy fails at the first instant, since the DVD is not named the same as the amphitheatre. We disambiguate topics on Wikipedia with disambiguation pages and hatnotes. There are two ambiguous topics on Wikipedia for "Stade de France", the obvious primary topic and the DVD. Readers looking for the DVD need to have navigational assistance in reaching it. There is no Stade de France (DVD) wiki. It simply redirects to N°5 on Tour, which primarily discusses the double live album and not the DVD, other than a subsection and one mention in the opening. It is sufficient, yes, and the beef isn't one used in the guidelines -- disambiguation covers articles and topics contained within articles. The DVD Stade de France topic is covered by the article N°5 on Tour, and a reader might reasonable seek it by entering "Stade de France" in the Search box. When they land here, they will be on the wrong page, and we have two possible ways of getting them to the intended page: hoping they go back to the search box and use the search option instead of hitting "Enter", or giving them a link in a hatnote on the primary topic article. -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:57, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

JHunterJ beat me to the punch here, but I might as well lend my (light)weight behind his comments. The two things that matter here are:

1. Whether the DVD is called "Stade de France" or not
2. Whether Wikipedia has information on the DVD

To quote the relevant guideline: "Disambiguation is required whenever, for a given word or phrase on which a reader might use the 'Go button', there is more than one existing Wikipedia article to which that word or phrase might be expected to lead." If it is feasible that a reader might type in "Stade de France" in the hope of finding information on this DVD, then a disambiguating hatnote pointing towards N°5 on Tour seems a reasonable thing to include at the top of this article. --Ibn (talk) 11:27, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Is it in Paris or St Denis

I asked a question on the Six nations talk page about what location we should have when referring to the stadium, (Paris or St Denis), I would be curious to hear what others here think on the location of the stadium. FFMG (talk) 09:30, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

It is in Saint-Denis, which is based in the metropolitan area of Paris. Similar to how the Rose Bowl is located in Pasadena; the city itself being situated in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. — JS^{Rant Away} 00:48, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
